For the first time in a single volume, The History of Islam in Africa presents a detailed historic mapping of the cultural, political, geographic, and religious past of this significant presence on a continent-wide scale. Bringing together two dozen leading scholars, this comprehensive work treats the historical development of the religion in each major region and examines its effects. 606 $aIslam$zAfrica$xHistory 615 0$aIslam$xHistory. 676 $a297/.096 701 $aLevtzion$b Nehemia$0243910 701 $aPouwels$b Randall Lee$f1944-$0244423 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910785914903321 996 $aThe history of Islam in Africa$93782383 997 $aUNINA LEADER 06238nam 22007935 450 001 9910484222903321 005 20251226204140.0 010 $a3-540-31431-8 024 7 $a10.1007/11618027 035 $a(CKB)1000000000232781 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000318812 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11223483 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000318812 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10329679 035 $a(PQKB)10110350 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-540-31431-8 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3068283 035 $a(PPN)123130824 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000232781 100 $a20100419d2006 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn#008mamaa 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aMathematical Knowledge Management $e4th International Conference, MKM 2005, Bremen, Germany, July 15-17, 2005, Revised Selected Papers /$fedited by Michael Kohlhase 205 $a1st ed. 2006. 210 1$aBerlin, Heidelberg :$cSpringer Berlin Heidelberg :$cImprint: Springer,$d2006. 215 $a1 online resource (XII, 408 p.) 225 1 $aLecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence,$x2945-9141 ;$v3863 300 $aBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph 311 08$a3-540-31430-X 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aSession I: Foundations -- A Proof-Theoretic Approach to Hierarchical Math Library Organization -- An Exploration in the Space of Mathematical Knowledge -- Session II: Authoring -- Authoring Presentation for openmath -- Translating Mathematical Vernacular into Knowledge Repositories -- Assisted Proof Document Authoring -- Session III: Representations -- A Tough Nut for Mathematical Knowledge Management -- Textbook Proofs Meet Formal Logic ? Previous conferences have been at the Research Institute for Symbolic Computation (RISC) Linz, Austria (September 2001), at Bertinoro, Italy (March 2003), and Bialowiecze, Poland (September 2004). Mathematical knowledge management (MKM) is a ?eld in the intersection of mathematics and computer science, providing new techniques for managing the enormous volume of mathematical knowledge available in current mathematical sources and making it available through the new developments in information technology. The annual MKM Conference brings together mathematicians, software - velopers, publishing companies, math organizations, math users, and educators to exchange their views and approaches, current activities and new initiatives. For the ?rst time, MKM 2005 chose to have post-conference proceedings, as otherwise the submission deadline would have collided with other conferences and crimped time since MKM 2004 in September 2004. The decision also faci- tatedkeepingtheconferenceopentonewideasaswellaskeepingupthematurity of the papers necessary for inclusion into archival proceedings. With a May 15 deadline, MKM 2005 received 38 submissions. Each submission was reviewed by at least three programme committee members. The committee decided to - cept 27 papers for presentation at the conference. Out of these, 26 papers were accepted for publication in the conference proceedings after re-evaluation by the Programme Committee since they included signi?cant improvements triggered by the referee reports and the discussions at the conference. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence,$x2945-9141 ;$v3863 606 $aArtificial intelligence 606 $aComputer networks 606 $aDatabase management 606 $aInformation storage and retrieval systems 606 $aApplication software 606 $aMathematics 606 $aArtificial Intelligence 606 $aComputer Communication Networks 606 $aDatabase Management 606 $aInformation Storage and Retrieval 606 $aComputer and Information Systems Applications 606 $aMathematics 615 0$aArtificial intelligence. 615 0$aComputer networks. 615 0$aDatabase management. 615 0$aInformation storage and retrieval systems. 615 0$aApplication software. 615 0$aMathematics. 615 14$aArtificial Intelligence. 615 24$aComputer Communication Networks. 615 24$aDatabase Management. 615 24$aInformation Storage and Retrieval. 615 24$aComputer and Information Systems Applications. 615 24$aMathematics. 676 $a510.285 701 $aKohlhase$b Michael$f1964-$0508819 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910484222903321 996 $aMathematical knowledge management$94186563 997 $aUNINA
