A large quantity of goods and services are produced by household members for their own consumption, without involving market transactions. Despite the economic and social importance of unpaid work, these productive activities are largely invisible to traditional national economic accounts. As a consequence, standard measures of intergenerational transfers typically ignore household production, and thus underestimate the overall value of goods and services produced over the life cycle; in particular, the economic contribution of females. The book uses a life course approach to offer policy-relevant insights into the effect of demographic and social change on intergenerational ties and gender inequality in household production. 410 0$aSpringerBriefs in Population Studies,$x2211-3215 606 $aDemography 606 $aFamilies 606 $aFamilies?Social aspects 606 $aSociology 606 $aPopulation 606 $aSocial structure 606 $aEquality 606 $aDemography$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X25000 606 $aFamily$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X27000 606 $aGender Studies$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X35000 606 $aPopulation Economics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/W38000 606 $aSocial Structure, Social Inequality$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X22010 615 0$aDemography. 615 0$aFamilies. 615 0$aFamilies?Social aspects. 615 0$aSociology. 615 0$aPopulation. 615 0$aSocial structure. 615 0$aEquality. 615 14$aDemography. 615 24$aFamily. 615 24$aGender Studies. 615 24$aPopulation Economics. 615 24$aSocial Structure, Social Inequality. 676 $a300 676 $a304.6 676 $a305 676 $a305.3 676 $a306.85 676 $a330 700 $aZagheni$b Emilio$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01228436 702 $aZannella$b Marina$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aMovsesyan$b Gabriel$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 702 $aWagner$b Brittney$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910483993703321 996 $aA Comparative Analysis of European Time Transfers between Generations and Genders$92851858 997 $aUNINA
