From an insider's perspective, Thrice Told Tales examines married couples' own stories of their relationship. A representative sample of 199 African-American and 177 White married couples were asked to tell the story of their relationship. It provides accounts of courtships, weddings, honeymoons, their adjustment in the early years, and hopes for the future. These stories were first collected a few months after their weddings, and again in the third and 606 $aMarriage$zUnited States$vLongitudinal studies 606 $aNarration (Rhetoric)$xPsychological aspects 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aMarriage 615 0$aNarration (Rhetoric)$xPsychological aspects. 676 $a306.81/0973 700 $aHolmberg$b Diane.$0936795 701 $aOrbuch$b Terri$0936796 701 $aVeroff$b Joseph$f1929-$0936797 801 0$bFlBoTFG 801 1$bFlBoTFG 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910456179003321 996 $aThrice-told tales$92110021 997 $aUNINA LEADER 11410nam 22008175 450 001 9910483837703321 005 20251226203113.0 010 $a978-3-540-32130-9$bSpringerLink 024 7 $a10.1007/11581772 035 $a(CKB)1000000000213417 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000316017 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11242644 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000316017 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10263387 035 $a(PQKB)11495663 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-540-32130-9 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3067682 035 $a(PPN)123098556 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000213417 100 $a20100430d2005 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn#008mamaa 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aAdvances in Multimedia Information Processing - PCM 2005 $e6th Pacific Rim Conference on Multimedia, Jeju Island, Korea, November 11-13, 2005, Proceedings, Part I /$fedited by Yo-Sung Ho, Hyoung Joong Kim 205 $a1st ed. 2005. 210 1$aBerlin, Heidelberg :$cSpringer Berlin Heidelberg :$cImprint: Springer,$d2005. 215 $a1 online resource (XXVIII, 1022 p.) 225 1 $aInformation Systems and Applications, incl. of the 6th Pacific-Rim Conference on Multimedia (PCM). The first PCM was held in Sydney, Australia, in 2000. Since then, it has been hosted successfully by Beijing, China, in 2001, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 2002, Singapore in 2003, and Tokyo, Japan, in 2004, and finally Jeju, one of the most beautiful and fantastic islands in Korea. This year, we accepted 181 papers out of 570 submissions including regular and special session papers. The acceptance rate of 32% indicates our commitment to ensuring a very high-quality conference. This would not be possible without the full support of the excellent Technical Committee and anonymous reviewers that provided timely and insightful reviews. We would therefore like to thank the Program Committee and all reviewers. The program of this year reflects the current interests of the PCM?s. The accepted papers cover a range of topics, including, all aspects of multimedia, both technical and artistic perspectives and both theoretical and practical issues. The PCM 2005 program covers tutorial sessions and plenary lectures as well as regular presentations in three tracks of oral sessions and a poster session in a single track. We have tried to expand the scope of PCM to the artistic papers which need not to be strictly technical. 410 0$aInformation Systems and Applications, incl.
