Richard carefully examines the framers' relationship with the Bible to assess the conflicting claims of those who argue that they were Christians founding a Christian nation against those who see them as Deists or modern secularists. Richard argues that it is impossible to understand the Founders without understanding the Biblically infused society that produced them. 606 $aReligion and politics$zUnited States$xHistory$y18th century 606 $aReligion and state$zUnited States$xHistory$y18th century 606 $aFounding Fathers of the United States$xReligious life 607 $aUnited States$xReligion$yTo 1800 607 $aUnited States$xPolitics and government$xPhilosophy 615 0$aReligion and politics$xHistory 615 0$aReligion and state$xHistory 615 0$aFounding Fathers of the United States$xReligious life. 676 $a200.973/09033 700 $aRichard$b Carl J.$01180408 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910810132103321 996 $aThe founders and the Bible$93967655 997 $aUNINA LEADER 05220nam 22006255 450 001 9910483834603321 005 20251226203704.0 010 $a1-280-38814-5 010 $a9786613566065 010 $a3-642-14758-5 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-642-14758-6 035 $a(CKB)2550000000015615 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000446223 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11299734 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000446223 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10490886 035 $a(PQKB)11364850 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-642-14758-6 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3065526 035 $a(PPN)14907266X 035 $a(BIP)31787120 035 $a(EXLCZ)992550000000015615 100 $a20100709d2010 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn|008mamaa 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aAdaptive Multimedia Retrieval: Identifying, Summarizing, and Recommending Image and Music $e6th International Workshop, AMR 2008, Berlin, Germany, June 26-27, 2008. TheworkshopwasorganizedattheFraunhoferInstitute forTelecommunications HHI, Berlin, Germany, during June 26-27, 2008. The goalof the AMR workshopsis to intensify the exchangeof ideasbetween di'erentresearchcommunities, toprovideanoverviewofcurrentactivitiesinthis areaandtopointoutconnectionsbetweenthediverseresearchescommunities,in particular the ones focussing on multimedia retrieval and arti'cial intelligence. In this spirit, the ?rst three events were collocated with Arti'cial Intelligence conferences: in 2003 as a workshop of the 26th German Conference on Arti'cial Intelligence (KI 2003); in 2004 as part of the 16th European Conference on Arti'cial Intelligence (ECAI 2004) and in 2005 as part of the 19th International Joint Conference on Arti'cial Intelligence (IJCAI 05). Because of its success, in 2006 the University of Geneva, Switzerland organized the workshop for the ?rst time as a standalone event. The motivation of the participants led us to continue this path, and thus AMR 2007 and AMR 2008 were again organizedas independent events at the Laboratoired'Informatique de ParisVI in France and at the Fraunhofer Institute for Telecommunications, Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) in Berlin, respectively. The workshop in 2008 revealed four main subtopics: summarization, ident- cation and recommendation. These challenges addressed image, Web and music data, thelatterbeingastrongandnewpushintheAMRseries. Therefore, inthis edition, adaptive retrieval--the core subject--was tackled from quite di'erent and innovative perspectives. 410 0$aInformation Systems and Applications, incl.
