Typology and Roadmap. 330 $aThe International Conference on Information Processing and Management of Uncertainty in Knowledge-Based Systems, IPMU, is organized every two years with the aim of bringing together scientists working on methods for the m- agement of uncertainty and aggregation of information in intelligent systems. Since 1986, this conference has been providing a forum for the exchange of ideas th between theoreticians and practitioners working in these areas. The 13 IPMU conference took place in Dortmund, Germany, June 28-July 2, 2010. This volumecontains77papersselectedthrougharigorousreviewingprocess among 320 submissions from 36 countries. The contributions re'ect the richness of research in the ?eld of computational intelligence and represent several - portant developments, speci'cally focused on the following sub'elds: (a) machine learning, data mining, and pattern recognition, (b) uncertainty handling, (c) aggregation and fusion of information, (d) logic and knowledge processing. We were delighted that Melanie Mitchell (Portland State University, USA), NihkilR.Pal(IndianStatisticalInstitute),BernhardSch¨ olkopf(MaxPlanckI- titute for Biological Cybernetics, Tubing ¨ en, Germany) and Wolfgang Wahlster (German Research Center for Arti'cial Intelligence, Saarbruc ¨ ken) accepted our invitationstopresentkeynotelectures.JimBezdekreceivedtheKamp´edeF´ eriet Award, grantedeverytwo yearsonthe occasionofthe IPMUconference,in view ofhiseminentresearchcontributionstothehandlingofuncertaintyinclustering, data analysis and pattern recognition. 410 0$aLecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence,$x2945-9141 ;$v6178 606 $aArtificial intelligence 606 $aComputer programming 606 $aCompilers (Computer programs) 606 $aDatabase management 606 $aApplication software 606 $aComputer science 606 $aArtificial Intelligence 606 $aProgramming Techniques 606 $aCompilers and Interpreters 606 $aDatabase Management 606 $aComputer and Information Systems Applications 606 $aTheory of Computation 615 0$aArtificial intelligence. 615 0$aComputer programming. 615 0$aCompilers (Computer programs). 615 0$aDatabase management. 615 0$aApplication software. 615 0$aComputer science. 615 14$aArtificial Intelligence. 615 24$aProgramming Techniques. 615 24$aCompilers and Interpreters. 615 24$aDatabase Management. 615 24$aComputer and Information Systems Applications. 615 24$aTheory of Computation. 676 $a006.33 701 $aHullermeier$b Eyke$01757235 701 $aKruse$b Rudolf$0102093 701 $aHoffmann$b Frank$f1964-$01757236 712 12$aInternational Conference on Information Processing and Management of Uncertainty in Knowledge-Based Systems. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910483703303321 996 $aComputational Intelligence for Knowledge-Based System Design$94522713 997 $aUNINA
