The central notion is a partition (an iterated decomposition) of a compact metric space. Via a partition, a compact metric space is associated with an infinite graph whose boundary is the original space. Metrics and measures on the space are then studied from an integrated point of view as weights of the partition. In the course of the text: It is shown that a weight corresponds to a metric if and only if the associated weighted graph is Gromov hyperbolic. Various relations between metrics and measures such as bilipschitz equivalence, quasisymmetry, Ahlfors regularity, and the volume doubling property are translated to relations between weights. In particular, it is shown that the volume doubling property between a metric and a measure corresponds to a quasisymmetry between two metrics in the language of weights. The Ahlfors regular conformal dimension of a compact metric space is characterized as the critical index of p-energies associated with the partition and the weight function corresponding to the metric. These notes should interest researchers and PhD students working in conformal geometry, analysis on metric spaces, and related areas. 410 0$aLecture notes in mathematics ;$vVolume 2265. 606 $aConformational analysis 615 0$aConformational analysis. 676 $a541.223 700 $aKigami$b Jun$065976 801 0$bCaPaEBR 801 1$bCaPaEBR 801 2$bUtOrBLW 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910483493203321 996 $aGeometry and Analysis of Metric Spaces via Weighted Partitions$91768616 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03202nam 2200613 a 450 001 9910782090303321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a0-8040-4022-2 035 $a(CKB)1000000000521656 035 $a(EBL)1794571 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000278037 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11195552 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000278037 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10241056 035 $a(PQKB)11553535 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL1794571 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10156424 035 $a(OCoLC)191935874 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1794571 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000521656 100 $a20060222d2006 ub 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aColonial rosary$b[electronic resource] $ethe Spanish and Indian missions of California /$fAlison Lake 210 $aAthens, Ohio $cSwallow Press/Ohio University Press$dc2006 215 $a1 online resource (262 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a0-8040-1085-4 311 $a0-8040-1084-6 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references (p. 231-239) and index. 327 $aNative California before the missions -- All the world's a stage for Spain -- Exploration and settlement -- Establishment of the missions -- The messengers of St. Francis -- Conversion and mission life -- The women of mission California -- Spanish and Mexican settlement -- Colonial soldiers and the Presidio -- Style and layout of mission buildings -- Farming -- Mission trades and economy -- Indians of the missions -- Changing rule of the missions -- The decline of a civilization -- The cycle of decline and restoration -- Conclusion : the colonial rosary -- Appendix A : research and resources -- Appendix B : additional resources pertaining to California indians. 330 $a California would be a different place today without the imprint of Spanish culture and the legacy of Indian civilization. This volume reflects on recent social scientific engagement with Ecosystem Health research and practice and sets out a vision for the future. While significant links between human health and the environment are increasingly evident, how to make sense of the interdependence of human health on natural systems is posing significant challenges. Ecological health is a new approach used by medics, public health practitioners, veterinarians, as well as social and natural scientists who study health at the nexus between human, animal and ecological systems. This volume is a reference tool offering a sociological analysis of the interrelationship between society, earth systems and health as conceptual frameworks. The authors provide methodological tools for conducting social science research that integrates social, natural and medical systems. It will appeal to a broad audience of researchers and practitioners who currently work in the arena of ecology and health and as well as those interested in expanding their research. 410 0$aAdvances in medical sociology ;$vv. 15. 606 $aSocial Science$xGeneral$2bisacsh 606 $aSocial Science$xDisease & Health Issues$2bisacsh 606 $aSociology$2bicssc 606 $aMedical sociology$2bicssc 606 $aEnvironmental health 606 $aHuman ecology$xHealth aspects 606 $aHuman beings$xEffect of environment on 615 7$aSocial Science$xGeneral. 615 7$aSocial Science$xDisease & Health Issues. 615 7$aSociology. 615 7$aMedical sociology. 615 0$aEnvironmental health. 615 0$aHuman ecology$xHealth aspects. 615 0$aHuman beings$xEffect of environment on. 676 $a357 701 $aGislason$b Maya K$01487461 801 0$bUtOrBLW 801 1$bUtOrBLW 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910787784803321 996 $aEcological health$93707320 997 $aUNINA
