The book is primarily concerned with a lack or deficiency of one or more micro- or macronutrients in connection with malnutrition, under nutrition, and starvation. Embedded within the deficiency states is acute restriction whereby food is withdrawn completely for short periods, as when individuals are adhering to religious requirements or undergoing surgical procedures. Further downstream is the consumption of a fraction of the normal diet, as when individuals are dieting or when there is restriction in the amount or variety of food available. The causes of such reductions in dietary intake are varied and also include the social context of poverty, financial limitations, and famine. Refugees and displaced persons may also be vulnerable to under nutrition or total starvation. Diseases may also impact on the total food consumed, such as when there are physical impediments (intestinal obstruction or dysphagia) or anorexia (induced by organic disease or as a disease process per se, ie, anorexia nervosa). This book, organized as approximately 125 chapters in 17 major sections, covers the variable manifestations of dietary restrictions on cells, whole organs, the individual, and societies. . 606 $aHealth promotion 606 $aHealth psychology 606 $aNutrition    606 $aClinical nutrition 606 $aHealth Promotion and Disease Prevention$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H27010 606 $aHealth Psychology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/Y12020 606 $aNutrition$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C18000 606 $aClinical Nutrition$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H33140 615 0$aHealth promotion. 615 0$aHealth psychology. 615 0$aNutrition   . 615 0$aClinical nutrition. 615 14$aHealth Promotion and Disease Prevention. 615 24$aHealth Psychology. 615 24$aNutrition. 615 24$aClinical Nutrition. 676 $a613 676 $a614.44 702 $aPreedy$b Victor$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aPatel$b Vinood B$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910349365203321 996 $aHandbook of Famine, Starvation, and Nutrient Deprivation$91736041 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03398oam 2200481 450 001 9910483465603321 005 20210625190239.0 010 $a981-15-9746-4 024 7 $a10.1007/978-981-15-9746-6 035 $a(CKB)4100000011743081 035 $a(DE-He213)978-981-15-9746-6 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6462824 035 $a(PPN)253250196 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000011743081 100 $a20210625d2021 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn|008mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aProceedings of 2020 international top-level forum on engineering science and technology development strategy and the 5th PURPLE MOUNTAIN FORUM (PMF2020) /$fYusheng Xue, Yuping Zheng, Anjan Bose, editors 205 $a1st ed. 2021. 210 1$aGateway East, Singapore :$cSpringer,$d[2021] 210 4$d©2021 215 $a1 online resource (XI, 1010 p. 565 illus., 387 illus. in color.) 225 1 $aLecture Notes in Electrical Engineering,$x1876-1100 ;$v718 311 $a981-15-9745-6 327 $aProtection comparative analysis of typical phase-shifting transformers -- Process-level Network Analysis and Optimization Scheme Research in Smart Substation -- Attitude Monitoring Method of Transmission Tower in Goaf Based on Multi-source Sensing and Information Fusion -- Empirical Study of the Influence of AC/DC Touch Fault on Transformer Differential Protection. 330 $aThis book includes original, peer-reviewed research papers from the 2020 International Top-Level Forum on Engineering Science and Technology Development Strategy -- the 5th PURPLE MOUNTAIN FORUM on Smart Grid Protection and Control?PMF2020?, held in Nanjing, China, on August 15-16, 2020.
