Scholarship on runaways is well established and prolific in ethnology, anthropology and history, but it is still in its infancy in archaeology. A small body of archaeological literature on maroons exists for other regions, but no single volume discusses the subject in depth, including diverse eras and geographical areas within Latin American contexts. Thus, a central aim of the volume is to gather together some of the most active, Latin American maroon archaeologists in a single volume. This volume will thus become an important reference book on the subject and will also foster further archaeology research on maroon settlements. The introduction and comments by senior scholars provide a wide-ranging and comprehensive analysis of runaway archaeology that will help to indicate the global importance of this research. 410 0$aSpringerBriefs in Archaeology,$x1861-6623 606 $aArchaeology 606 $aAnthropology 606 $aCultural property 606 $aArchaeology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X13000 606 $aAnthropology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X12000 606 $aCultural Heritage$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/419000 607 $aLatin America$2fast 608 $aHistory.$2fast 615 0$aArchaeology. 615 0$aAnthropology. 615 0$aCultural property. 615 14$aArchaeology. 615 24$aAnthropology. 615 24$aCultural Heritage. 676 $a980 702 $aFunari$b Pedro Paulo A.$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aOrser$b Charles E.$cJr.,$f1950-$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910483464103321 996 $aCurrent Perspectives on the Archaeology of African Slavery in Latin America$92843684 997 $aUNINA
