His analysis of practices of modelling and perceiving, immersion and empathy, experience and remembering, appropriation and refiguration, combine approaches from film studies, such as Vivian Sobchack?s phenomenology of film experience, with historiographic theories, such as Frank R. Ankersmit?s concept of historical experience. Building on this analysis, Greiner examines the spatial and temporal organization of historical films and presents discussions of mood and atmosphere, body and memory, and genre and historical consciousness. The analysis is based around three historical films, spanning six decades, that depict 1950s Germany: Helmut Käutner?s Sky Without Stars (1955), Jutta Brückner?s Years of Hunger (1980), and Sven Bohse?s three-part TV series Ku?damm 56 (2016). 606 $aFilm, TV & radio$2bicssc 606 $aHistory$2bicssc 606 $aFilm theory & criticism$2bicssc 610 $aScreen Studies 610 $aHistory, general 610 $aFilm Theory 610 $aFilm Studies 610 $aHistory 610 $aHistosphere 610 $aHistorical Film 610 $aPhenomenology of Film 610 $aHistorical Experience 610 $aAudiovisual 610 $aHistorical Worlds 610 $aOpen Access 610 $aPerforming arts 610 $aHistoriography 610 $aFilm history, theory & criticism 615 7$aFilm, TV & radio 615 7$aHistory 615 7$aFilm theory & criticism 676 $a791.43658 676 $a791.43658 700 $aGreiner$b Rasmus$0851605 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910482869503321 996 $aCinematic Histospheres$92169512 997 $aUNINA
