The IEA International Civic and Citizenship Education Study (ICCS), first conducted in 2009, was followed by a second cycle in 2016. The project was linked to the earlier IEA Civic Education Study (CIVED 1999, 2000). IEA?s ICCS remains the only large-scale international study dedicated to formal and informal civic and citizenship education in school. It continues to make substantial contributions to understanding the nature of the acquired civic knowledge, attitudes, and participatory skills. It also discusses in-depth how a wide range of countries prepare their young people for citizenship in changing political, social, and economic circumstances. The next cycle of ICCS is planned for 2022. In this book, more than 20 national representatives and international scholars from Europe, Latin America, Asia, and North America assess how the processes and findings of the 2009 and 2016 cycles of ICCS and CIVED 1999/2000 have been used to improve nations? understanding of their students? civic knowledge, beliefs, attitudes, current civic-related behaviors, and intentions for future participation in a comparative context. There are also chapters summarizing the secondary analysis of those studies? results indicating their usefulness for educational improvement and reflecting on policy issues. The analyses and reflections in this book provide timely insight into international educational discourse, policy, practice, and research in an area of education that is becoming increasingly important for many societies. 606 $aCitizenship$xStudy and teaching 606 $aEducation and state 606 $aEducational tests and measurements 606 $aCitizenship Education 606 $aEducational Policy and Politics 606 $aAssessment and Testing 615 0$aCitizenship$xStudy and teaching. 615 0$aEducation and state. 615 0$aEducational tests and measurements. 615 14$aCitizenship Education. 615 24$aEducational Policy and Politics. 615 24$aAssessment and Testing. 676 $a323.6071 686 $aEDU000000$aEDU034000$2bisacsh 700 $aMalak-Minkiewicz$b Barbara$0904520 701 $aTorney-Purta$b Judith$0904521 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910482867503321 996 $aInfluences of the IEA Civic and Citizenship Education Studies$92022483 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01865nas 2200565-a 450 001 9910303536303321 005 20240125213018.0 035 $a(DE-599)ZDB2754656-1 035 $a(CKB)110978979591269 035 $a(CONSER)---88912918- 035 $a(EXLCZ)99110978979591269 100 $a19890104a19889999 --- a 101 0 $aeng 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aIndian journal of Asian affairs 210 $aJaipur, India $cIndian Journal of Asian Affairs$d[1988]- 215 $a1 online resource 300 $aRefereed/Peer-reviewed 300 $aTitle from cover. 311 08$aPrint version: Indian journal of Asian affairs. 0970-6402 (DLC) 88912918 (OCoLC)18969819 517 1 $aIJAA 531 0 $aIndian j.
