This volume is devoted solely to the reporting and interpretation of the Mesolithic remains. Three huts had been constructed on the Howick site, all on the same footprint, with no evidence to indicate a gap between these occupations, and the remains inside the hut were all consistent with its use as a habitation site. The lithic material from Howick is the most accurately dated assemblage from any British Mesolithic site and is 606 $aExcavations (Archaeology) -- England -- Northumberland 606 $aHowick Site (England) 606 $aLand settlement patterns, Prehistoric -- England -- Northumberland 606 $aMesolithic period -- England -- Northumberland 606 $aNorthumberland (England) -- Antiquities 606 $aMesolithic period$zNorthumberland$zEngland 606 $aLand settlement patterns, Prehistoric$zEngland$zNorthumberland 606 $aExcavations (Archaeology)$zEngland$zNorthumberland 606 $aAnthropology$2HILCC 606 $aSocial Sciences$2HILCC 606 $aPrehistoric Anthropology$2HILCC 607 $aHowick Site (England) 607 $aNorthumberland (England)$xAntiquities 615 4$aExcavations (Archaeology) -- England -- Northumberland. 615 4$aHowick Site (England). 615 4$aLand settlement patterns, Prehistoric -- England -- Northumberland. 615 4$aMesolithic period -- England -- Northumberland. 615 4$aNorthumberland (England) -- Antiquities. 615 0$aMesolithic period 615 0$aLand settlement patterns, Prehistoric 615 0$aExcavations (Archaeology) 615 7$aAnthropology 615 7$aSocial Sciences 615 7$aPrehistoric Anthropology 676 $a936.288 700 $aWaddington$b Clive$0993630 702 $aBailey$b G.
