Après la guerre, il poursuit son action dans le cadre du Centre d?orientation sociale des étrangers et soutient le jeune État d?Israël avant de critiquer l?évolution qui l?éloigne de l?utopie fondatrice. Novateur social, de sensibilité progressiste, il renouvelle son engagement dans les années 1960 au pro?t des réfugiés politiques et est l?un des fondateurs de France Terre d?Asile au début de la décennie suivante.
