Im Anschluss an eine kritische Auseinandersetzung mit dem Sprachinselbegriff werden anhand erhobener Sprachdaten lautliche, morphologische, syntaktische sowie lexikalische Merkmale auf Basis idiolektaler Repräsentationen beschrieben. Darauf aufbauend werden sowohl Sprachkontakterscheinungen ? insbesondere Transferenzen und Codeswitching ? als auch spezielle Phänomene eines Bi- und Multilingualismus, die in den deutschböhmischen Siedlungen präsent sind, herausgearbeitet. Resümierend erfolgt eine Standortbestimmung zu Stadien des Spracherhalts, Sprachverfalls und Sprachtods.
