330 $aHospitals as a building type have undergone a substantial evolution in the past years. Changes in healthcare, the impact of evidence-based medicine and aspects of healthcare economics (such as the clustering of diagnostic procedures in specialized clinics) pose new and different challenges for the designer. Private healthcare facilities herald the paradigm change from the large functional building complex to a design-conscious health institution with luxury hotel features. Health centers more devoted to prevention rather than cure have been another important trend. This publication explains the principles and requirements for the planning of hospitals and other health facilities. An international case study section documents 40 best-practice projects in six categories: general hospitals, children's hospitals, specialized clinics, outpatient clinics and health centers as well as rehabilitation clinics. 606 $aHospital buildings$xDesign and construction 606 $aHospitals$xFurniture, equipment, etc 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aHospital buildings$xDesign and construction. 615 0$aHospitals$xFurniture, equipment, etc. 676 $a725/.51 686 $aZH 6350$2rvk 700 $aWagenaar$b Cor$01043858 702 $aLacanna$b Giuseppe 702 $aLuscuere$b Petre 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910467256703321 996 $aHospitals$92469120 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03820nam 22006375 450 001 9910623995103321 005 20250628110033.0 010 $a3-658-39536-2 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-658-39536-0 035 $a(CKB)5580000000418721 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-658-39536-0 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/93911 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC7129272 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL7129272 035 $a(OCoLC)1351751684 035 $a(ODN)ODN0010070517 035 $a(oapen)doab93911 035 $a(EXLCZ)995580000000418721 100 $a20221030d2023 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn#008mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aHipsterism $eA Paradigm for Modernity /$fby Tara Semple 205 $a1st ed. 2023. 210 $d2022 210 1$aWiesbaden :$cSpringer Fachmedien Wiesbaden :$cImprint: Springer VS,$d2023. 215 $a1 online resource (XI, 192 p. 14 illus., 13 illus. in color. Analysed through the lens of Modernity, Consumerism, and the New Spirit of Capitalism, it draws on qualitative research from two subsequent field stays in Berlin and is complemented by self-reflexion within the field. Young adults and their conceptions within modernity, capitalism and consumerism constitute a fundamental building block to understanding society. Little sociological work has been done in the field of Hipsterism, although it can function as a paradigm for western, affluent societies. With tools such as conscious consumption, conversations and ethical or creative work within a politically intended lifestyle, Hipsterism emerges as an attempt to navigate between individualism and collectivity. Resulting from these circumstances are a variety of forms of action, while searching for better ways to contribute and engage at the same time. Attempts to dissolve milieus and try to construct spaces where different cultures, classes and ethnicities are welcome might fail in spatial practice, but the practices in sum still leave a trace in (consumer) culture. All these activities hint at the potential of transformative and negotiating power that Hipsterism could have. About the Author Tara Semple first observed Hipsters in New York when she spent some months at the United Nations. She maintained a keen interest in the analysis of modern capitalism and influences on young adults in her work in academia and as a journalist, currently based in Zurich. 410 0$aKultur und gesellschaftliche Praxis,$x2626-2223 606 $aSocial sciences$xPhilosophy 606 $aSpace 606 $aCulture 606 $aSocial Theory 606 $aSpace and Place in Culture 606 $aSociology of Culture 615 0$aSocial sciences$xPhilosophy. 615 0$aSpace. 615 0$aCulture. 615 14$aSocial Theory. 615 24$aSpace and Place in Culture. 615 24$aSociology of Culture. 676 $a300.1 686 $aSOC026000$aSOC039000$2bisacsh 700 $aSemple$b Tara$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01272330 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910623995103321 996 $aHipsterism$92996763 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04791nam 22007215 450 001 9910427717103321 005 20251113205643.0 010 $a3-030-59155-7 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-030-59155-7 035 $a(CKB)4100000011435834 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-030-59155-7 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6348295 035 $a(PPN)25021878X 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000011435834 100 $a20200910d2020 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurnn|008mamaa 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aSoftware Architecture $e14th European Conference, ECSA 2020 Tracks and Workshops, L'Aquila, Italy, September 14?18, 2020, Proceedings /$fedited by Henry Muccini, Paris Avgeriou, Barbora Buhnova, Javier Camara, Mauro Caporuscio, Mirco Franzago, Anne Koziolek, Patrizia Scandurra, Catia Trubiani, Danny Weyns, Uwe Zdun 205 $a1st ed. 2020. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2020. 215 $a1 online resource (XIV, 560 p. 456 illus., 175 illus. in color.) 225 1 $aCommunications in Computer and Information Science,$x1865-0937 ;$v1269 311 08$a3-030-59154-9 327 $aECSA 2020 Doctoral Symposium track -- ECSA 2020 Tool Demos track -- ECSA 2020 Gender Diversity in Software Architecture &Software Engineering track -- CASA - 3rd International Workshop on Context-aware, Autonomous and Smart Architecture -- CSE/QUDOS - Joint Workshop on Continuous Software Engineering and Quality-Aware DevOps -- DETECT - 3rd International Workshop on Modeling, Verication and Testing of Dependable Critical Systems -- FAACS-MDE4SA - Joint Workshop on Formal Approaches for Advanced Computing Systems and Model-Driven Engineering for Software Architecture -- IoT-ASAP - 4th International Workshop on Engineering IoT Systems: Architectures, Services, Applications, and Platforms -- SASI4 - 2nd Workshop on Systems, Architectures, and Solutions for Industry 4.0 -- WASA - 6th International Workshop on Automotive System/Software Architecture. 330 $aThis book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the tracks and workshops which complemented the 14th European Conference on Software Architecture, ECSA 2020, held in L'Aquila, Italy*, in September 2020.
