A border is understood as a form of demarcation, but it also opens up the flow of people, goods, and ideas of legality and illegality. Borders are dynamic and dyadic in the interface of state and non-state actors involved in border operations. Consequently, transborder movement becomes a complex web involving concerns of security, trade, militancy, and questions of citizenship, along with discourses of ghettoisation, belonging and otherness. Since the mid-20th century, the South Asian region has witnessed growing social and political instability and breakdown of regional cooperation. In this context, the volume casts a wide, interdisciplinary lens across South Asia and discusses economic migration as well as forced migration due to persecution and natural disasters. It looks at how understandings of ?territoriality? and ?border? become blurred due to increasing transborder migration in the region: how states in South Asia address transborder movements at both policy level and on the ground; and how borderlands become spaces for illegal trade and informal economy in South Asia and for negotiations between states and refugees on identity and citizenship. This highly topical volume is for a wide group of scholars and students interested in South Asia, ranging from sociology, anthropology, political science, history, to interdisciplinary fields like migration studies, peace and conflict studies, and development studies. . 606 $aMigration 606 $aCitizenship 606 $aAsia-History 606 $aMigration$3http://scigraph.springernature.com/things/product-market-codes/X24000 606 $aCitizenship$3http://scigraph.springernature.com/things/product-market-codes/912130 606 $aHistory of South Asia$3http://scigraph.springernature.com/things/product-market-codes/715040 615 0$aMigration. 615 0$aCitizenship. 615 0$aAsia-History. 615 14$aMigration. 615 24$aCitizenship. 615 24$aHistory of South Asia. 676 $a304.8 702 $aUddin$b Nasir$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aChowdhory$b Nasreen$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910350277603321 996 $aDeterritorialised Identity and Transborder Movement in South Asia$92535797 997 $aUNINA LEADER 00397nam##22001337##450# 001 9910551518903321 010 $a9788874624843 100 $a########d########u##y0engy50####ba 105 0 $a########00### 200 1 $aDell'esistenza : glosse allo scritto kantiano del 1762 / Mariannina Failla. 700 $aFailla, Mariannina.$0444423 912 $a9910551518903321 996 $aDell'esistenza$91087212 997 $aUNINA
