Walton wrestles with philosophical issues concerning music, metaphor, empathy, existence, fiction, and expressiveness in the arts. These subjects are intertwined in striking and surprising ways. 615 0$aGerman language$xPolitical aspects. 615 0$aLanguage policy$xColonies. 615 0$aLanguages in contact. 676 $a306.442/31 702 $aKellermeier-Rehbein$b Birte 702 $aSchulz$b Matthias 702 $aStolberg$b Doris 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910466963903321 996 $aSprache und (Post)Kolonialismus$92477435 997 $aUNINA LEADER 00947nam0-22003011i-450 001 990005057750403321 005 20230124131315.0 035 $a000505775 035 $aFED01000505775 035 $a(Aleph)000505775FED01 100 $a19990530g19759999km-y0itay50------ba 101 0 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $ay-------001yy 200 1 $a<>carosello$eun atto$fErcole Patti$gpresentazione dell'Autore$gintroduzione di G. Two major themes structure the book. In the first part the authors explore the social and economic dimensions of the interaction; in the second part the emphasis moves to the spaces and built forms of towns and their church buildings. The primary emphasis of the essays is upon the urban activities of the medieval Church as a set of institutions: parish, diocese, monastery, cathedral. In these various institutional roles the Church did much to shape both the origin and the development of the medieval town. In exploring themes of topography, marketing and law the authors show that the relationship of Church and town could be both mutually beneficial and a source of conflict. 606 $aCity churches$zEngland$zHistory 606 $aCity churches$zIreland$xHistory 606 $aCities and towns$zEngland$xHistory 606 $aCities and towns$zIreland$xHistory 607 $aEngland$xChurch history$y1066-1485 607 $aIreland$xChurch history$y600-1500 615 0$aCity churches 615 0$aCity churches$xHistory. 615 0$aCities and towns$xHistory. 615 0$aCities and towns$xHistory. 676 $a274.2/05/091732 701 $aRosser$b Gervase$0998117 701 $aSlater$b T.
