The primary aim of the book is not only to identify the characteristic features of the digital language variety (this has already been done by several works) but to examine how digital communication affects the language of other mediums of communication: orality, handwritten texts, digitally created but not digitally perceived, that is printed texts, including in particular advertisements (which quickly respond to linguistic change). Naturally, the book presents the characteristics of the digital language variety (and coins the term digilect) but only to give a framework to the impact analysis. It is important to document changes in progress and thus direct attention to potential outcomes. The current linguistic change is different from previous ones primarily in its speed and form of spreading, and it not only brings innovative grammatical forms and writing/spelling solutions but may also have far-reaching cultural and educational consequences in the long run. 606 $aEnglish language$xStudy and teaching$xComputer-assisted instruction 606 $aLanguage and languages$xStudy and teaching$xTechnological innovations 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aEnglish language$xStudy and teaching$xComputer-assisted instruction. 615 0$aLanguage and languages$xStudy and teaching$xTechnological innovations. 676 $a428.00785 700 $aVeszelszki$b A?gnes$01053308 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910466801103321 996 $aDigilect$92485149 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04441nam 22007935 450 001 9910500587503321 005 20251113182200.0 010 $a3-030-82208-7 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-030-82208-8 035 $a(CKB)5360000000050036 035 $aEBL6734438 035 $a(OCoLC)1313882908 035 $a(AU-PeEL)EBL6734438 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6734438 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/72239 035 $a(ODN)ODN0010072164 035 $a(oapen)doab72239 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-030-82208-8 035 $a(EXLCZ)995360000000050036 100 $a20210925d2022 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aNeighbourhoods in Transition $eBrownfield Regeneration in European Metropolitan Areas /$fby Emmanuel Rey, Martine Laprise, Sophie Lufkin 205 $a1st ed. 2022. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2022. 215 $a1 online resource $cillustrations (chiefly color) 225 1 $aThe Urban Book Series,$x2365-7588 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a3-030-82207-9 327 $aPart 1: Definition and issues -- Introduction -- Urban brownfields: Origin, definition, and diversity -- The multiple potentials of urban brownfields -- Urban brownfield regeneration projects: Complexities and issues -- Sustainability issues at the neighbourhood scale -- Part 2: Project dynamics and support tools -- Key steps of a regeneration process -- Specific skills and adapted support -- Sustainability monitoring: Principles, challenges, and approaches -- An operational monitoring tool -- Application to a case study -- Conclusion -- Appendix. 330 $aThis open access book is focused on the intersection between urban brownfields and the sustainability transitions of metreopolitan areas, cities and neighbourhoods. It provides both a theoretical and practical approach to the topic, offering a thorough introduction to urban brownfields and regeneration projects as well as an operational monitoring tool. Neighbourhoods in Transition begins with an overview of historic urban development and strategic areas in the hearts of towns to be developed. It then defines several key issues related to the topic, including urban brownfields, regeneration projects, and sustainability issues related to neighbourhood development. The second part of this book is focused on support tools, explaining the challenges faced, the steps involved in a regeneration process, and offering an operational monitoring tool. It applies the unique tool to case studies in three selected neighbourhoods and the outcomesof one case study are also presented and discussed, highlighting its benefits. The audience for this book will be both professional and academic. It will support researchers as an up-to-date reference book on urban brownfield regeneration projects, and also the work of architects, urban designers, urban planners and engineers involved in sustainability transitions of the built environment. 410 0$aThe Urban Book Series,$x2365-7588 606 $aGeography 606 $aDevelopment economics 606 $aUrban ecology (Biology) 606 $aSustainable architecture 606 $aSociology, Urban 606 $aRegional Geography 606 $aDevelopment Economics 606 $aUrban Ecology 606 $aSustainable Architecture/Green Buildings 606 $aUrban Sociology 615 0$aGeography. 615 0$aDevelopment economics. 615 0$aUrban ecology (Biology). 615 0$aSustainable architecture. 615 0$aSociology, Urban. 615 14$aRegional Geography. 615 24$aDevelopment Economics. 615 24$aUrban Ecology. 615 24$aSustainable Architecture/Green Buildings. 615 24$aUrban Sociology. 676 $a307.3416094 686 $aARC018000$aBUS092000$aSCI020000$aSCI030000$aSOC026030$2bisacsh 700 $aRey$b Emmanuel$01018001 702 $aRey$b Emmanuel$4aut 702 $aLaprise$b Martine$4aut 702 $aLufkin$b Sophie$4aut 801 0$bAU-PeEL 801 1$bAU-PeEL 801 2$bAU-PeEL 801 2$bNZ-WeVUL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910500587503321 996 $aNeighbourhoods in Transition$94464713 997 $aUNINA
