And not without reason. Its low density combined with high rigidity, good processability, and its resistance makes it an excellent building material. There is currently a pioneering renaissance of the timber construction, for two distinct reasons: first, wood is increasingly being rediscovered as one of the most important renewable raw materials for sustainable construction. Moreover, a revolution in the construction of timber structures began several years ago with the ever-progressive use of three-dimensional CAD models for digitally controlled robot manufacturing The book documents these developments, in particular the engineering bonding techniques, the introduction of digital production techniques, and the innovative material developments of this material. The chapter on composite structures and experimental structures specifically address trends toward the future-oriented dimensions of timber construction. In the final section, outstanding designs are documented in detail, such as the Club House of Haesley Nine Bridges Golf Course designed by Shigeru Ban in Yeoju, South Korea, and the double gymnasium in Borex-Crassier, Switzerland, by Graeme Mann and Patricia Capua Mann. 606 $aBuilding, Wooden 606 $aWooden-frame buildings 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aBuilding, Wooden. 615 0$aWooden-frame buildings. 676 $a691/.1 686 $aZI 7400$2rvk 700 $aJeska$b Simone, $01047712 702 $aJeska$b Simone 702 $aPascha$b Khaled Saleh 702 $aHascher$b Rainer 712 02$aTechnische Universita?t Berlin, 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910464730803321 996 $aEmergent timber technologies$92475499 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01351nam 2200337Ia 450 001 996384793903316 005 20200824131946.0 035 $a(CKB)4940000000073278 035 $a(EEBO)2240870599 035 $a(OCoLC)ocm11629052e 035 $a(OCoLC)11629052 035 $a(EXLCZ)994940000000073278 100 $a19850128d1688 uy | 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurbn||||a|bb| 200 03$aAn Account of the reasons of the nobility and gentry's invitation of His Highness the Prince of Orange into England$b[electronic resource] $ebeing a memorial from the English Protestants concerning their grievances : with a large account of the birth of the Prince of Wales, presented to Their Highnesses the Prince and Princess of Orange 210 $aLondon $cPrinted for Nathanael Ranew, and Jonathan Robinson ...$d1688 215 $a[2], 28 p 300 $aReproduction of original in Yale University Library. 330 $aeebo-0198 606 $aProtestants$zEngland 607 $aGreat Britain$xHistory$yJames II, 1685-1688 615 0$aProtestants 801 0$bEAA 801 1$bEAA 801 2$bm/c 801 2$bWaOLN 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996384793903316 996 $aAn Account of the reasons of the nobility and gentry's invitation of His Highness the Prince of Orange into England$92366205 997 $aUNISA
