Peter Jackson examines the interplay between two contending conceptions of security: the first based on traditional practices of power politics and the second on internationalist doctrines that emerged in the late nineteenth century. He pays particular attention to the social and political context in which security policy was made and to the cultural dynamics of the policy-making process. The result is a comprehensive reassessment of France's security policy in the era of the Great War. The book reconsiders the evolution of French war aims and reinterprets the peace policy of the Clemenceau government in 1919. It also provides a new perspective on the foreign policy of successive French governments in the early 1920s. It shows that internationalist ideas were far more influential over this entire period than is commonly understood. 606 $aNational security$zFrance$xHistory$y20th century 606 $aWorld War, 1914-1918$zFrance 606 $aWorld War, 1914-1918$xInfluence 607 $aFrance$xMilitary policy 607 $aFrance$xForeign relations$y1914-1940 607 $aFrance$xPolitics and government$y1914-1940 615 0$aNational security$xHistory 615 0$aWorld War, 1914-1918 615 0$aWorld War, 1914-1918$xInfluence. 676 $a355/.03304409041 700 $aJackson$b Peter$f1964-$01056548 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910463960903321 996 $aBeyond the balance of power$92491005 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03014oam 2200409z- 450 001 9910792514603321 005 20210111164358.0 010 $a0-309-45029-2 010 $a0-309-45027-6 035 $a(CKB)3710000001064498 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC4806755 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000001064498 100 $a20170306c2017uuuu -u- - 101 0 $aeng 200 10$aDeveloping multimodal therapies for brain disorders $eproceedings of a workshop /$fLisa Bain, Noam I. In order to examine the general principles underlying multimodal therapies and to explore challenges, potential barriers, and opportunities for their development, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine convened a workshop in June 2016. Participants explored scientific, clinical, regulatory, and reimbursement issues related to multimodal approaches and potential opportunities to enhance clinical outcomes for individuals with nervous system disorders. This publication summarizes the presentations and discussions from the workshop"--Publisher's description. 606 $aBrain$xDiseases$xAdjuvant treatment$vCongresses 606 $aCombined modality therapy$vCongresses 606 $aCombined Modality Therapy 606 $aBrain Diseases$xtherapy 615 0$aBrain$xDiseases$xAdjuvant treatment 615 0$aCombined modality therapy 615 12$aCombined Modality Therapy. 615 12$aBrain Diseases$xtherapy. 676 $a616.8/046 700 $aBain$b Lisa J.$01470672 702 $aKeren$b Noam I. 702 $aStroud$b Clare 712 02$aNational Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (U.S.).$bForum on Neuroscience and Nervous System Disorders, 712 12$aMultimodal Therapies for Brain Disorders (Workshop)$f(2016 :$eWashington, D.C.),$bauthor. 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910792514603321 996 $aDeveloping multimodal therapies for brain disorders$93734329 997 $aUNINA
