Models of environmental problems. 330 $aIt is estimated that roughly 1000 new ecological and environmental models join the ranks of the scientific literature each year. The international peer-reviewed literature reports some 20,000 new models spanning the period from 1970-2010. Just to keep abreast of the field it is necessary to design a handbook of models that doesn't merely list them, but rather draws the state-of-the-art development of models for ecosystem and environmental management.Published first in 1996, Handbook of Models Applied in Ecosystem and Environmental Management applies precisely 410 0$aApplied ecology and environmental management. 606 $aEcology$xSimulation methods 606 $aPollution$xEnvironmental aspects$xSimulation methods 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aEcology$xSimulation methods. 615 0$aPollution$xEnvironmental aspects$xSimulation methods. 676 $a577 701 $aJorgensen$b Sven Erik$f1934-$01046065 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910463900303321 996 $aHandbook of ecological models used in ecosystem and environmental management$92472747 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01332nam a2200361 i 4500 001 991000904159707536 005 20020507103021.0 008 970308s1946 uk ||| | eng 035 $ab10146088-39ule_inst 035 $aLE00638892$9ExL 040 $aDip.to Fisica$bita 084 $a510.33 084 $a510.34 084 $a510.47 084 $a517.38 084 $aQA371 100 1 $aTitchmarsh, E.C.$0461743 245 10$aEigenfuction expansions associated with second-order differential equations /$cE. Partly because of complications resulting from access, scholars have tended to focus on groups affected by elite governance rather than on elites themselves. It is often overlooked that, in order to continue through time, elites have to empower new members. Choice has to be exercised over who achieves leadership, both by reference to the elite group itself and to the wider group over which it holds power. This book fills a gap in the current literature by providing the first rigorous interrogation of the choice and succession strategies of elites in various cultural contexts - from the transmission and preservation of financial power in urban contexts to the complex relation between subjectivity and the transmission of leadership positions in places as varied as the United States, Northern Italy and Lisbon. Various elite succession types are discussed, from self-avowedly 'traditional' leaders to the aristocracy, where choice is practically non-existent, to situations where leaders are elected from amongst a group of peers. The relationship between familial property and choice of successor in landholding families, small business enterprises, and peasant communities is also examined, as are ethnic monopolies. 606 $aSociology & Anthropology 606 $aantropologia da família 606 $aelite 606 $ahistória da família 606 $areprodução social 606 $aélite 606 $aanthropologie de la famille 606 $ahistoire de la famille 606 $areproduction sociale 606 $aanthropology of the family 606 $afamily history 606 $asocial reproduction 610 $aanthropology of the family 610 $aelite 610 $afamily history 610 $asocial reproduction 615 4$aSociology & Anthropology 615 4$aantropologia da família 615 4$aelite 615 4$ahistória da família 615 4$areprodução social 615 4$aélite 615 4$aanthropologie de la famille 615 4$ahistoire de la famille 615 4$areproduction sociale 615 4$aanthropology of the family 615 4$afamily history 615 4$asocial reproduction 700 $aBrempong$b Nana Arhin$01325465 701 $aE. Marcus$b George$01325466 701 $aHerzfeld$b Michael$0446542 701 $aLave$b Jean$066710 701 $aLentz$b Carola$01141431 701 $aLima$b Antónia Pedroso de$01288015 701 $aMonteiro$b Nuno Gonçalo$0777277 701 $aPina-cabral$b João De$01099695 701 $aSobral$b José Manuel$01325467 701 $aToren$b Christina$0974522 701 $aYanagisako$b Sylvia$01325468 701 $aCabral$b João de Pina$01295135 701 $aLima$b Antónia Pedroso de$01288015 801 0$bFR-FrMaCLE 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910306652303321 996 $aElites$93036904 997 $aUNINA
