American prisoners who survived their initial moments of captivity faced months of neglect, starvation, and brutal treatment as their captors marched them north toward prison camps in the Yalu River Valley.Cold Days in Hell provides a detailed account of their captivity and offers valuable insights into an ongoing issue: the conduct of prisoners in the hands of enemy captors and the rules that should g 410 0$aWilliams-Ford Texas A&M University military history series ;$vno. 141. 606 $aKorean War, 1950-1953$xPrisoners and prisons, North Korean 606 $aPrisoners of war$zKorea (North) 606 $aPrisoners of war$zUnited States 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aKorean War, 1950-1953$xPrisoners and prisons, North Korean. 615 0$aPrisoners of war 615 0$aPrisoners of war 676 $a951.904/27 700 $aLatham$b William C$g(William Clark),$f1961-$0882806 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910463490103321 996 $aCold days in hell$91972185 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04095 am 22006733u 450 001 9910261147003321 005 20231110224353.0 010 $a1-5015-1180-7 024 7 $a10.1515/9781501511806 035 $a(CKB)3800000000418796 035 $a(OAPEN)1002611 035 $a(DE-B1597)461619 035 $a(OCoLC)1012688117 035 $a(DE-B1597)9781501511806 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5493920 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL5493920 035 $a(OCoLC)1049912474 035 $a(oapen)https://directory.doabooks.org/handle/20.500.12854/32061 035 $a(EXLCZ)993800000000418796 100 $a20190615d2017 fg 101 0 $aeng 135 $auuuuu---auuuu 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 00$aSignGram Blueprint $eA Guide to Sign Language Grammar Writing /$fJosep Quer, Markus Steinbach, Carlo Cecchetto, Caterina Donati, Carlo Geraci, Meltem Kelepir, Roland Pfau 210 $aBerlin, Germany$cDe Gruyter$d2017 210 1$aBerlin ;$aBoston : $cDe Gruyter Mouton, $d[2017] 210 4$dİ2017 215 $a1 online resource (896) 225 0 $aDe Gruyter Reference 311 $a1-5015-1570-5 327 $tSignGram Blueprint -- $tFrontmatter -- $tIntroduction: Letter to the grammar writer -- $tNotational conventions -- $tSign language acronyms -- $tStructure of the SignGram COST Action IS1006 -- $tList of contributors -- $tAcknowledgments -- $tSignGram Blueprint: Checklist -- $tManual: Contents -- $tPart 1: Socio-historical background -- $tPart 2: Phonology -- $tPart 3: Lexicon -- $tPart 4: Morphology -- $tPart 5: Syntax -- $tPart 6: Semantics -- $tPart 7: Pragmatics -- $tList of authors by section -- $tGlossary 330 $aWe gratefully acknowledge the financial support of COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology), funded by the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme of the European Union. Current grammatical knowledge about particular sign languages is fragmentary and of varying reliability, and it appears scattered in scientific publications where the description is often intertwined with the analysis. In general, comprehensive grammars are a rarity. The SignGram Blueprint is an innovative tool for the grammar writer: a full-fledged guide to describing all components of the grammars of sign languages in a thorough and systematic way, and with the highest scientific standards. The work builds on the existing knowledge in Descriptive Linguistics, but also on the insights from Theoretical Linguistics. It consists of two main parts running in parallel: the Checklist with all the grammatical features and phenomena the grammar writer can address, and the accompanying Manual with the relevant background information (definitions, methodological caveats, representative examples, tests, pointers to elicitation materials and bibliographical references). The areas covered are Phonology, Morphology, Lexicon, Syntax and Meaning. The Manual is endowed with hyperlinks that connect information across the work and with a pop-up glossary. The SignGram Blueprint will be a landmark for the description of sign language grammars in terms of quality and quantity. 410 3$aDe Gruyter Reference 606 $aLinguistics$2bicssc 606 $aSign languages, Braille & other linguistic communication$2bicssc 610 $aDescriptive Linguistics. 610 $aGrammaticography. 610 $aSign Language Description. 610 $aSign Language Grammar. 615 7$aLinguistics 615 7$aSign languages, Braille & other linguistic communication 676 $a400 686 $aES 175$2rvk 700 $aQuer$b Josep$4edt$01434073 702 $aCecchetto$b Carlo, 702 $aDonati$b Caterina, 702 $aGeraci$b Carlo, 702 $aKelepir$b Meltem, 702 $aPfau$b Roland, 702 $aQuer$b Josep, 702 $aSteinbach$b Markus, 801 0$bDE-B1597 801 1$bDE-B1597 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910261147003321 996 $aSignGram Blueprint$93585713 997 $aUNINA
