The Future of Japanese Capitalism -- Bibliography -- Subject Index -- Name Index. 330 $aThe Reproductive Bargain reveals the institutional sources of labor insecurities behind Japan?s postwar employment system. This economic juggernaut?s decline cannot be understood without reference to the reproductive bargain. The historical terms of the reproductive bargain rests on the establishment of company citizenship in support of a standard employment relationship, privileging the male breadwinner in calculations for benefits in exchange for the salarymen working long hours in relatively secure jobs at the enterprise and relying on women?s unpaid reproductive labor in the family and increasingly on women?s waged work in nonstandard jobs. Such institutionalized relationships, formerly the engines of growth and stability, drag economic expansion and employment security. Gendering institutional analysis is a key to deciphering the enigma of Japanese capitalism. 410 0$aStudies in critical social sciences ;$vVolume 77. 606 $aJob security$zJapan$xHistory 606 $aIndustrial relations$zJapan$xHistory 606 $aEmployees$zJapan$xHistory 606 $aLabor$zJapan$xHistory 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aJob security$xHistory. 615 0$aIndustrial relations$xHistory. 615 0$aEmployees$xHistory. 615 0$aLabor$xHistory. 676 $a331.0952 700 $aGottfried$b Heidi$f1955-$0901869 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910463467403321 996 $aThe reproductive bargain$92015867 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01523nam 2200361 n 450 001 996389016903316 005 20200824120828.0 035 $a(CKB)1000000000635938 035 $a(EEBO)2248561817 035 $a(UnM)99839855e 035 $a(UnM)99839855 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000635938 100 $a19910115d1637 uy | 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurbn||||a|bb| 200 04$aThe Churches authority asserted$b[electronic resource] $ein a sermon preached at Chelmsford, at the metropoliticall visitation of the most Reverend Father in God, VVilliam, Lord Arch-bishop of Canterbury his Grace, &c.
