Since Brown v. Board of Education, the concept of educational equality has remained markedly durable and animated major school reform efforts, including desegregation, school finance reform, the education of students with disabilities and English language learners, charter schools, voucher policies, the various iterations of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (including No Child Left Behind) and the 'Stimulus'. Despite such attention, students' educational opportunities have remained persistently unequal as understandings of the goals underlying schooling, fundamental changes in educational governance, and the definition of an equal education have continually shifted. Drawing from law, education policy, history and political science, this book examines how the concept of equality in education law and policy has transformed from Brown through the Stimulus, the major factors influencing this transformation, and the significant problems that school reforms accordingly continue to face. 517 3 $aEquality in Education Law & Policy, 1954-2010 606 $aEducational equalization$xLaw and legislation$zUnited States$xHistory 606 $aEducational equalization$zUnited States$xHistory 606 $aDiscrimination in education$xLaw and legislation$zUnited States$xHistory 615 0$aEducational equalization$xLaw and legislation$xHistory. 615 0$aEducational equalization$xHistory. 615 0$aDiscrimination in education$xLaw and legislation$xHistory. 676 $a344.73/0709045 700 $aSuperfine$b Benjamin Michael$01051560 801 0$bUkCbUP 801 1$bUkCbUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910463335503321 996 $aEquality in education law and policy, 1954-2010$92482152 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01553oam 2200421Ia 450 001 9910696704803321 005 20080718112703.0 035 $a(CKB)5470000002381828 035 $a(OCoLC)174251308 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000002381828 100 $a20071016d2007 ua 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurmn||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aTintina gold province study, Alaska and Yukon territory, 2002-2007$b[electronic resource] $eunderstanding the origin, emplacement, and environmental signature of mineral resources /$f[by Larry P.
