The stories of Alberta identity that evolved along with the development of the province's oil resources, over the course of Alberta's recent history, fuel this analysis of discourse. The author uses theories of discourse analysis to explore how the media in Canada and in Alberta have presented historical boom and bust phenomena in the oil industry, in particular, how the Canadian oil industry has built on characteristics of Alberta identity to create a close association of interests linking the Alberta community and oil producers. She draws on popular culture and classical literature to compare the discourse on energy in Quebec and Alberta. 410 0$aEnergy, ecology, and the environment series ;$vno. 6. 606 $aPe?trole$xIndustrie et commerce$xCouverture de presse$zAlberta 606 $aPetroleum industry and trade$xPress coverage$zAlberta 607 $aAlberta$xDans les me?dias 607 $aAlberta$xPress coverage 608 $aElectronic books. 615 6$aPe?trole$xIndustrie et commerce$xCouverture de presse 615 0$aPetroleum industry and trade$xPress coverage 676 $a333.8/232097123 700 $aPerron$b Dominique$f1957-$0933329 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910463223203321 996 $aL'Alberta Autophage$92100830 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04465nam 22007215 450 001 9910299557003321 005 20200701162745.0 010 $a3-642-39762-X 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-642-39762-2 035 $a(CKB)3710000000092720 035 $a(EBL)1783189 035 $a(OCoLC)902413928 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001186782 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11777487 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001186782 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11242097 035 $a(PQKB)11094892 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1783189 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-642-39762-2 035 $a(PPN)177825995 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000092720 100 $a20140305d2014 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aEmission Factors of Carbonaceous Particulate Matter and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons from Residential Solid Fuel Combustions /$fby Guofeng Shen 205 $a1st ed. 2014. 210 1$aBerlin, Heidelberg :$cSpringer Berlin Heidelberg :$cImprint: Springer,$d2014. 215 $a1 online resource (221 p.) 225 1 $aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 300 $a"Doctoral Thesis accepted by College of Urban and Environmental Sciences, Peking University, Beijing, China." 311 $a3-642-39761-1 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references at the end of each chapters. 327 $aIntroduction -- Research overview -- Materials and Methods -- Emission factors of carbonaceous particulate matter -- Emission factors of parent PAHs -- Emission factors of PAH derivatives -- Field measurement -- Biomass pellet burning -- Conclusion. 330 $aEmission inventory is basic for the understanding of environmental behaviors and potential effects of compounds, however, current inventories are often associated with relatively high uncertainties. One important reason is the lack of emission factors (EFs), especially for the residential solid fuel combustion in developing countries. In the present study, emission factors of a group of pollutants including particulate matter, organic carbon, elemental carbon (sometimes known as black carbon) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were measured for a variety of residential solid fuels including coal, crop straw, wood, and biomass pellets in rural China. The study provided a large number of emission factors that can be further used in emission estimation. Composition profiles and isomer ratios were investigated and compared so as to be used in source apportionment. In addition, the present study identified and quantified the influence of factors like fuel moisture, volatile matter on emission performance. The publication of the study will be of interest and helpful to the readers in the field of air pollution, human health, fuel saving and energy consumption etc. Guofeng Shen works at the Institute of Atmospheric Sciences, Jiangsu Academy of Environmental Sciences, China. 410 0$aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 606 $aEnvironmental sciences 606 $aAir$xPollution 606 $aEnergy 606 $aClimatic changes 606 $aEnvironmental Science and Engineering$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/G37000 606 $aAtmospheric Protection/Air Quality Control/Air Pollution$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/U35010 606 $aEnergy, general$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/100000 606 $aClimate Change Management and Policy$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/314000 615 0$aEnvironmental sciences. 615 0$aAir$xPollution. 615 0$aEnergy. 615 0$aClimatic changes. 615 14$aEnvironmental Science and Engineering. 615 24$aAtmospheric Protection/Air Quality Control/Air Pollution. 615 24$aEnergy, general. 615 24$aClimate Change Management and Policy. 676 $a628.532 700 $aShen$b Guofeng$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$01059434 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910299557003321 996 $aEmission Factors of Carbonaceous Particulate Matter and Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons from Residential Solid Fuel Combustions$92505859 997 $aUNINA
