A select group of simulation professionals labored long and hard to develop a high quality technical program for 1982. The primary objective of the Winter Simulation Conference is to emphasize current activities in discrete and combined discrete and continuous simulations. Over eighty papers were received from the various areas of the Western world. All contributed papers were reviewed by the program committee, most of whom are session chairpersons in this yearos Winter Simulation Conference. So that all legitimate activities can be reported on, we have continued with the Winter Simulation Conference tradition to invite speakers with national reputations to present papers, set up panel sessions and present tutorials and the Advanced Practitioner sessions. Some of their sessions include on-line demonstration of software, thus, providing hands-on experience for the attendees. We also have birds-of-a-feather sessions. These are all scheduled after 5:30 pm. 606 $aDigital computer simulation$vCongresses 615 0$aDigital computer simulation 676 $a001.434 700 $aChao$b Yen W.$00 712 02$aACM Digital Library, 801 0$bNjHacI 801 1$bNjHacl 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910376619903321 996 $aProceedings of the 14th conference on Winter Simulation$93423485 997 $aUNINA
