Insofar as the image was part of the discourse of subjectivity/representation, getting rid of the subject involved smuggling the concept of the image out of the discourse of subjectivity/representation into a newly revived and ethically flavored metaphysical discourse?a metaphysics of immanence, which was more interested in consciousness rather than subjectivity, in the inhuman rather than the human, in the virtual rather than the real, in Time rather than temporalization, in Memory rather than memory-images, in Imagination rather than images, in sum, in impersonal forces, de-personalizing experiences, states of dis-embodiment characterized by the breaking down of sensory-motor schemata (Bergson?s pure memory, Sartre?s image-consciousness, Deleuze?s time-image) or, more generally, in that which remains beyond representation id est beyond subjectivity (Lyotard?s sublime, Baudrillard?s fatal object). The book would be of interest to scholars and students of philosophy, aesthetics, and film theory. 410 0$aConsciousness, literature & the arts ;$v5. 606 $aPhilosophy, French 606 $aPhilosophy 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aPhilosophy, French. 615 0$aPhilosophy. 676 $a791.43684 700 $aTrifonova$b Temenuga$0947427 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910451831503321 996 $aThe image in French philosophy$92140748 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02552nam 2200541 a 450 001 9910461613903321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a1-60805-249-4 035 $a(CKB)2670000000099270 035 $a(EBL)864195 035 $a(OCoLC)795119918 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000942206 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11500777 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000942206 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10972028 035 $a(PQKB)11462394 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC864195 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL864195 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10492629 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000099270 100 $a20110920d2011 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aPeople, preferences & prices$b[electronic resource] $esequencing the economic genome of the consumer mind /$fby Eugene Galanter, Howard Moskowitz, Matthias Silcher 210 $a[Saif Zone, Sharjah, United Arab Emirates] $cBentham Science Publishers Ltd.$d[2011] 215 $a1 online resource (302 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a1-60805-642-2 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $apt. 1.
