It derives from research with a specialist team of clinicians and scientists, and a series of families referred with a potential diagnosis of Rett syndrome, and documents the scientific, clinical, patient and family experiences over a three-year period. Although Rett syndrome itself is rare, it is one of some 2,000 such syndromes, and its genetic basis has recently been linked to the much broader Autism spectrum. From a sociological or anthropological point of view, it is also of considerable interest as a clinical entity that is undergoing transformation in the light of recent post-genomic research. Traditionally, such syndromes have been diagnosed clinically, but increasingly genetic technologies are having an impact on the diagnosis, description and classification of conditions. Rett Syndrome is thus a key exemplar of the implications of genetic medicine that are far-reaching and extend well beyond this particular syndrome"--$cProvided by publisher. 410 0$aGenetics and society. 606 $aRett syndrome 606 $aGenetic disorders 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aRett syndrome. 615 0$aGenetic disorders. 676 $a616.85/884 700 $aFeatherstone$b Katie.$0975195 701 $aAtkinson$b Paul$f1947-$028015 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910461504003321 996 $aCreating conditions$92220402 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01401oem 2200421Ia 450 001 9910696313303321 005 20081215125827.0 035 $a(CKB)5470000002377702 035 $a(OCoLC)191914490 035 $a(EXLCZ)995470000002377702 100 $a20080211d1989 ca 101 0 $aeng 120 $ab|||||||||||| 121 $a||aa||||| 124 $bd 135 $aurcn||||||||| 181 $ccrd$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aBathymetric fishing map$iGulf of Mexico, Sarasota$b[electronic resource] /$fNational Ocean Service 210 1$aWashington, D.C. :$cU.S. Dept. of Commerce, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Ocean Service,$d1989. 215 $a1 map $cdigital, PDF file 300 $aDepths shown by isolines, soundings and gradient tints. 300 $aIncludes hydrographic survey index and information, depth gradient diagram, and index to adjoining maps. 517 1 $aSarasota, bathymetric fishing map 517 3 $aGulf of Mexico, Sarasota 606 $aFishing$zFlorida$vMaps 607 $aMexico, Gulf of$vMaps 608 $aBathymetric maps.$2lcgft 608 $aMaps.$2lcgft 615 0$aFishing 801 0$bGPO 801 1$bGPO 801 2$bGPO 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910696313303321 996 $aBathymetric fishing map$93450919 997 $aUNINA
