This book explores the aesthetic potential of these new types of moving facades. Critique of theory and practice in architecture is combined here with ideas from kinetic art of the 1960's. From this background the basic principles of kinetics are defined and are used to generate experimental computer animations. By classifying the animations, a theory of kinetic form called 'state change' is developed. This design research provides a unique and timely resource for those interested in the capacity of kinetics to enliven the public face of architecture. 606 $aFacades$vDesigns and plans 606 $aMotion in architecture 606 $aArchitectural design 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aFacades 615 0$aMotion in architecture. 615 0$aArchitectural design. 676 $a729/.1 700 $aMoloney$b Jules.$0912117 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910461367303321 996 $aDesigning kinetics for architectural facades$92042401 997 $aUNINA
