By analyzing new data every three years since then, the Center has been able to consistently chart changes in how HR is organized and managed, while at the same time providing guidance on how professionals in the field can drive firm performance. Global Trends in Human Resource Management, the seventh report from CEO, provides the newest findings about what makes HR successful and how it can add value to organizations today. Edward E. Lawler III and John W. Boudreau conclude that HR is most powerful when it plays a strategic role, makes use of information technology, has tangible metrics and analytics, and integrates talent and business strategies. To adapt to the demands of a changing global marketplace, HR is increasingly required to span the boundaries between its function, the organization as a whole, and the dynamic environment within which it operates. This report tracks changes in a global sample of firms that shows how HR differs across Europe, the U.S., and Asia, providing an international benchmark against which to measure a company's practice and shows how HR can adapt in a rapidly changing landscape. 606 $aPersonnel management 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aPersonnel management. 676 $a658.3 700 $aLawler$b Edward E.$cIII,$0114189 702 $aBoudreau$b John W. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910460622203321 996 $aGlobal trends in human resource management$92485921 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03181nam 2200661 450 001 9910819814103321 005 20200903223051.0 010 $a90-04-26674-7 024 7 $a10.1163/9789004266742 035 $a(CKB)3710000000094123 035 $a(EBL)1651845 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001107355 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11634133 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001107355 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11082413 035 $a(PQKB)10858739 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1651845 035 $a(DLC)17951402 035 $a(DLC)2013046963 035 $a(nllekb)BRILL9789004266742 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL1651845 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10848653 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL582317 035 $a(OCoLC)874321309 035 $a(PPN)178907642 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000094123 100 $a20140322h20142014 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurun| uuuua 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aPaolo Sarpi $ea servant of God and state /$fby Jaska Kainulainen ; Vincenzo Giaconi, cover illustration 210 1$aLeiden, Netherlands :$cBrill,$d2014. 210 4$dİ2014 215 $a1 online resource (302 p.) 225 1 $aStudies in Medieval and Reformation Traditions,$x1573-4188 ;$vVolume 180 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a90-04-26114-1 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and indexes. 327 $aPreliminary Material -- 1 Introduction -- 2 Sarpi?s Venice -- 3 Ubiquity of Motion -- 4 Postlapsarian Man -- 5 Christian Mortalism -- 6 Servitude to God and State -- 7 Sovereignty, Obedience and Absolutism -- 8 The Interest of the State -- 9 Epilogue -- Appendices -- Bibliography -- Index of Names and Subjects. 330 $aThis book is an intellectual biography of the Venetian historian and theologian Paolo Sarpi (1552-1623). It analyses Sarpi's natural philosophy, religious ideas and political thought. Kainulainen argues that Sarpi was influenced by Neostoicism, Neoepicureanism and the sixteenth-century scientific revolution; that Sarpi was a fideist and Christian mortalist who, while critical of the contemporary Church of Rome, admired the purity of the early church. Focusing on Sarpi?s separation between church and state, his use of absolutism, divine right of kings and reason of state, the book offers a fresh perspective on medieval and reformation traditions. It will be of interest to those interested in early-modern intellectual history and the interplay between science, religion and politics in sixteenth- and seventeenth-century political discourse. 410 0$aStudies in medieval and Reformation traditions ;$vVolume 180. 606 $aHistorians$zItaly$zVenice$vBiography 606 $aStatesmen$zItaly$zVenice$vBiography 607 $aVenice (Italy)$xIntellectual life 615 0$aHistorians 615 0$aStatesmen 676 $a195 700 $aKainulainen$b Jaska$01684266 702 $aGiaconi$b Vincenzo 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910819814103321 996 $aPaolo Sarpi$94055663 997 $aUNINA
