Adopting discourse analysis and text-linguistic approaches, Chan attempts to tackle the Melchizedek texts in Genesis 14, Psalm 110, and Hebrews 5-7. This seminal study illustrates how the mysterious figure is understood and interpreted by later biblical writers, "... Using the "blessing" motif as a framework, Chan also argues that Numbers 22-24, 2 Samuel 7 and the Psalter: Books I-V (especially Psalms 1-2) provide a reading paradigm of interpreting Psalm 110. In addition, the structure of Hebrews provides a clue to how the author interprets the Old Testament texts. 606 $aRELIGION / Biblical Criticism & Interpretation / General$2bisacsh 608 $aElectronic books. 610 $aMelchizedek, Biblical Interpretation, Biblical Studies. 615 7$aRELIGION / Biblical Criticism & Interpretation / General. 676 $a221.92 700 $aChan$b Alan Kam-Yau$0886742 702 $aAlan KamYau$b Chan, $4ctb$4https://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/ctb 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910247448203321 996 $aMelchizedek passages in the Bible$91980400 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02205nam 2200589 a 450 001 9910460180803321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a1-282-93943-2 010 $a9786612939433 010 $a0-19-974223-5 035 $a(CKB)2670000000040378 035 $a(EBL)3053770 035 $a(OCoLC)646820886 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000415983 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12142644 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000415983 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10417772 035 $a(PQKB)11608492 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3053770 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3053770 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10399398 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL293943 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000040378 100 $a20090706d2010 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 04$aThe disappearing God gap?$b[electronic resource] $ereligion in the 2008 presidential election /$fCorwin E.
