L?analisi interdisciplinare di un tema monografico č stato fin dall?inizio il tratto caratterizzate della rivista. Nel corso degli ultimi anni, pur rimanendo i problemi dello sviluppo del Mezzogiorno d?Italia un aspetto centrale dei suoi interessi, Meridiana ha allargato la sua attenzione prendendo in considerazione temi come le disuguaglianze, la regolazione politica e sociale, le problematiche ambientali, le rappresentazioni sociali e le differenze territoriali anche in aree diverse dalle regioni meridionali. 607 $aItalia meridionale$xSviluppo$xSociologia [e] Storia$2BNCF 676 $a301.0945 712 01$aIstituto meridionale di storia e scienze sociali, 801 $aIT$bcba$gREICAT 912 $a996399249003316 959 $aEJ 969 $aER 996 $aMeridiana$961423 997 $aUNISA LEADER 03634nam 2200661 450 001 9910460140803321 005 20210428194142.0 010 $a0-8014-5497-2 010 $a0-8014-5498-0 024 7 $a10.7591/9780801454981 035 $a(CKB)3710000000311096 035 $a(OCoLC)897815064 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebrary10993844 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001383062 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12591496 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001383062 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11474211 035 $a(PQKB)11375768 035 $a(StDuBDS)EDZ0001504030 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3138688 035 $a(OCoLC)898711063 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)muse37658 035 $a(DE-B1597)478557 035 $a(OCoLC)979968089 035 $a(DE-B1597)9780801454981 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3138688 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10993844 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL681722 035 $a(OCoLC)922998650 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000311096 100 $a20141220h20142014 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aMaking money in sixteenth-century France $ecurrency, culture, and the state /$fJotham Parsons 210 1$aIthaca, New York :$cCornell University Press,$d2014. 210 4$d©2014 215 $a1 online resource (337 p.) 300 $aBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph 311 $a1-322-50440-7 311 $a0-8014-5159-0 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $tFront matter --$tContents --$tAcknowledgments --$tIntroduction --$t1. By controlling money, the people sought to understand and control their complex, expanding, and interdependent world. In Making Money in Sixteenth-Century France, Jotham Parsons investigates the creation and circulation of currency in France. The royal Cour des Monnaies centralized monetary administration, expanding its role in the emerging modern state during the sixteenth century and assuming new powers as an often controversial repository of theoretical and administrative expertise. The Cour des Monnaies, Parsons shows, played an important role in developing the contemporary understanding of money, as a source of both danger and opportunity at the center of economic and political life. More practically, the Monnaies led generally successful responses to the endemic inflation of the era and the monetary chaos of a period of civil war. Its work investigating and prosecuting counterfeiters shone light into a picaresque world of those who used the abstract and artificial nature of money for their own ends. Parsons's broad, multidimensional portrait of money in early modern France also encompasses the literature of the age, in which money's arbitrary and dangerous power was a major theme. 606 $aMoney$zFrance$xHistory$y16th century 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aMoney$xHistory 676 $a332.4/94409031 700 $aParsons$b Jotham$01039424 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910460140803321 996 $aMaking money in sixteenth-century France$92461635 997 $aUNINA LEADER 00942nlm 2200289 a 450 001 996629271803316 005 20241128103234.0 100 $a20001218d2000---- uy 0 101 0 $aeng 102 $aUS 135 $adrcnu 200 1 $aLife has become more joyous, comrades$ecelebrations in the time of Stalin$fKaren Petrone 210 1 $aBloomington, Ind.$cIndiana University Press$dc2000 215 $aTesto elettronico (PDF) (X, 266 p. ) 225 2 $aIndiana-Michigan series in Russian and East European studies 230 $aBase dati testuale 410 0$aACLS Humanities E-Book. 606 0 $aCultura popolare$yUnione sovietica$xStoria$2BNCF 676 $a394.26947 700 1$aPETRONE,$bKaren$0515203 712 02$aAmerican Council of Learned Societies. 801 0$aIT$bcba$cREICAT 912 $a996629271803316 959 $aEB 969 $aER 996 $aLife has become more joyous, comrades$92900771 997 $aUNISA
