The contributors theorize the effects of militarization across former and current territories of Japan and the United States, such as Guam, Okinawa, the Marshall Islands, the Philippines, and Korea, demonstrating that the relationship between militarization and colonial subordination-and their gendered and racialized processes-shapes and produces bodies of memory, knowledge, and resistance.Contribu 606 $aMilitarism$zPacific Area$xHistory$y20th century 606 $aMilitarism$xSocial aspects$zPacific Area 606 $aImperialism$xHistory$y20th century 607 $aUnited States$xForeign relations$zPacific Area 607 $aPacific Area$xForeign relations$zUnited States 607 $aJapan$xForeign relations$zPacific Area 607 $aPacific Area$xForeign relations$zJapan 607 $aPacific Area$xPolitics and government$y21st century 607 $aPacific Area$xSocial conditions$y21st century 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aMilitarism$xHistory 615 0$aMilitarism$xSocial aspects 615 0$aImperialism$xHistory 676 $a355/.03305 701 $aShigematsu$b Setsu$0884163 701 $aCamacho$b Keith L$0884164 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910459219703321 996 $aMilitarized currents$91974418 997 $aUNINA LEADER 04096nam 22006375 450 001 9910350220203321 005 20250609111601.0 010 $a981-15-0932-8 024 7 $a10.1007/978-981-15-0932-2 035 $a(CKB)4100000009836970 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5969403 035 $a(DE-He213)978-981-15-0932-2 035 $a(PPN)258304782 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5969352 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000009836970 100 $a20191030d2019 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aSearch for New Phenomena in Top-Antitop Quarks Final States with Additional Heavy-Flavour Jets with the ATLAS Detector /$fby Daiki Yamaguchi 205 $a1st ed. 2019. 210 1$aSingapore :$cSpringer Singapore :$cImprint: Springer,$d2019. 215 $a1 online resource (xviii, 279 pages) $cillustrations 225 1 $aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 300 $a"Doctoral thesis accepted by Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan." 311 08$a981-15-0931-X 327 $aIntroduction -- The ATLAS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider -- Reconstruction of physics objects -- Data and Event simulations -- Signal and background modeling -- Optimisations of heavy object tagging and event categorisation -- Analysis strategy -- Systematic uncertainties -- Statistical analysis -- Results -- Discussion -- Prospect -- Conclusion. 330 $aThis book reports on the search for a new heavy particle, the Vector-Like Top quark (VLT), in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. The signal process is the pair production of VLT decaying into a Higgs boson and top quark (TT?Ht+X, X=Ht, Wb, Zt). The signal events result in top?antitop quarks final states with additional heavy flavour jets. The book summarises the analysis of the data collected with the ATLAS detector in 2015 and 2016. In order to better differentiate between signals and backgrounds, exclusive taggers of top quark and Higgs boson were developed and optimised for VLT signals. These efforts improved the sensitivity by roughly 30%, compared to the previous analysis. The analysis outcomes yield the strongest constraints on parameter space in various BSM theoretical models. In addition, the book addresses detector operation and the evaluation of tracking performance. These efforts are essential to properly collecting dense events and improving the accuracy of the reconstructed objects that are used for particle identification. As such, they represent a valuable contribution to data analysis in extremely dense environments. 410 0$aSpringer Theses, Recognizing Outstanding Ph.D. Research,$x2190-5053 606 $aParticle acceleration 606 $aNuclear physics 606 $aHeavy ions 606 $aParticles (Nuclear physics) 606 $aQuantum field theory 606 $aParticle Acceleration and Detection, Beam Physics$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P23037 606 $aNuclear Physics, Heavy Ions, Hadrons$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P23010 606 $aElementary Particles, Quantum Field Theory$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/P23029 615 0$aParticle acceleration. 615 0$aNuclear physics. 615 0$aHeavy ions. 615 0$aParticles (Nuclear physics) 615 0$aQuantum field theory. 615 14$aParticle Acceleration and Detection, Beam Physics. 615 24$aNuclear Physics, Heavy Ions, Hadrons. 615 24$aElementary Particles, Quantum Field Theory. 676 $a539.72167 700 $aYamaguchi$b Daiki$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0839019 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910350220203321 996 $aSearch for New Phenomena in Top-Antitop Quarks Final States with Additional Heavy-Flavour Jets with the ATLAS Detector$91873781 997 $aUNINA
