This monograph offers the first full-length commentary (in English) to cover all aspects of the Geryoneis . Included in this monograph is a much-needed revised and up-to-date text together with a full apparatus. As well as concentrating on the poet?s usage of metre and language, a particular emphasis has been given to Stesichoros?s debt to epic poetry. Innovative too is the proposal that the Geryoneis was closely connected with the cult worship Geryon received in the 6th century. This book has an especial appeal to both those already familiar with lyric and epic poetry, but also, it is hoped, those new to Stesichoros. 410 0$aMnemosyne, bibliotheca classica Batava.$pSupplementum ;$v333. 410 0$aMnemosyne, bibliotheca classica Batava.$pSupplementum.$pMonographs on Greek and Roman language and literature. 606 $aLost literature$zGreece 606 $aManuscripts, Greek (Papyri) 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aLost literature 615 0$aManuscripts, Greek (Papyri) 676 $a881/.01 700 $aCurtis$b Paul$f1965-$0881353 701 2$aStesichorus$0190415 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910457806503321 996 $aStesichoros's Geryoneis$91968377 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01062nam0 22002891i 450 001 UON00233481 005 20231205103513.490 010 $a88-17-17325-8 100 $a20030730d2000 |0itac50 ba 101 $aita$aRUS 102 $aIT 105 $a|||| ||||| 200 1 $aPoesie e poemetti$fSergej A.
