His aim is less to reexamine the basic hypotheses of hermeneutics (Gadamer's hermeneutics in particular) than to understand it in relational terms, by bringing it into closer association with existentialism, pragmatism, critical theory, and postmodernism. Fairfield contends that there are important affinities and areas for critical exchange between hermeneutics and these four schools of thought which have, until now, remained underappreciated. Philosophical Hermeneutics Reinterpreted examines several of these connections by interpreting hermeneutics in relation to specific themes in the writings of key figures within each of these traditions. In so doing, he both clarifies some outstanding issues in hermeneutics and advances the subject beyond what Heidegger, Gadamer, and Ricoeur have given us. 410 0$aContinuum studies in Continental philosophy. 606 $aHermeneutics$xHistory 606 $2Philosophy 615 0$aHermeneutics$xHistory. 676 $a121/.686 700 $aFairfield$b Paul$f1966-$0902338 801 0$bUtOrBLW 801 1$bUtOrBLW 801 2$bUkLoBP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910457179303321 996 $aPhilosophical hermeneutics in relation$92254617 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03899nam 22007092 450 001 9910450261603321 005 20151005020622.0 010 $a1-107-12545-6 010 $a0-511-06457-8 010 $a1-280-41961-X 010 $a9786610419616 010 $a0-511-17684-8 010 $a1-139-14795-1 010 $a0-511-05824-1 010 $a0-511-32982-2 010 $a0-511-53574-0 010 $a0-511-07303-8 035 $a(CKB)1000000000018085 035 $a(EBL)217899 035 $a(OCoLC)70758363 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000183242 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11174789 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000183242 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10194113 035 $a(PQKB)11741308 035 $a(UkCbUP)CR9780511535741 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC217899 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL217899 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10069870 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL41961 035 $a(EXLCZ)991000000000018085 100 $a20090429d2002|||| uy| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur||||||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aInverse problems in atmospheric constituent transport /$fI.G. Measurements of the distributions of these gases in space and time provide important information, but the interpretation of this information often involves ill-conditioned model inversions. A variety of techniques have therefore been developed to analyze these problems. Inverse Problems in Atmospheric Constituent Transport is the first book to give comprehensive coverage of work on this topic. The trace gas inversion problem is presented in general terms and the various different approaches are unified by treating the inversion problem as one of statistical estimation. Later chapters demonstrate the application of these methods to studies of carbon dioxide, methane, halocarbons and other gases implicated in global climate change. This book is aimed at graduate students and researchers embarking upon studies of global atmospheric change, biogeochemical cycles and Earth systems science. 410 0$aCambridge atmospheric and space science series. 606 $aAtmospheric diffusion$xMathematical models 606 $aDynamic meteorology$xMathematical models 606 $aInverse problems (Differential equations) 615 0$aAtmospheric diffusion$xMathematical models. 615 0$aDynamic meteorology$xMathematical models. 615 0$aInverse problems (Differential equations) 676 $a628.5/3/015118 700 $aEnting$b I.
