It is an innovative volume that recalls the earlier tradition of textbooks of comparative philology, which, however, exclusively treated Indo-European languages. It is suited for students with at least a year of a Semitic language. By far the largest component of the book are the nine wordlists that provide the data to be manipulated by the student. Says reviewer Peter Daniels, the wordlists ?constitute a unique resource for all of comparative linguistics?a considerable quantity of uniform data from a host of related languages. They would be useful for any class in comparative linguistics, not just for those interested specifically in Semitic.? Scattered throughout the text are 25 exercises based on the wordlists that provide a good introduction to the methods of comparativists. Also included are paradigms of the phonological systems of ten Semitic languages as well as Coptic and a form of Berber. A bibliography that guides the student into further reading in Semitic linguistics completes the volume. 606 $aComparative linguistics 606 $aSemitic languages$xGlossaries, vocabularies, etc 606 $aSemitic languages$xGrammar, Comparative 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aComparative linguistics. 615 0$aSemitic languages$xGlossaries, vocabularies, etc. 615 0$aSemitic languages$xGrammar, Comparative. 676 $a492 700 $aBennett$b Patrick R$0661271 801 0$bMdBmJHUP 801 1$bMdBmJHUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910456743503321 996 $aComparative semitic linguistics$91301627 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02543nam 2200529 450 001 9910787165803321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a1-61147-763-8 010 $a1-61147-691-7 035 $a(CKB)3710000000251809 035 $a(EBL)1810420 035 $a(SSID)ssj0001348046 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)12603821 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0001348046 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)11362791 035 $a(PQKB)10262547 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC1810420 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL1810420 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10976591 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL650860 035 $a(OCoLC)892430137 035 $a(EXLCZ)993710000000251809 100 $a20141118h20142014 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aPlace, setting, perspective $enarrative space in the films of Nanni Moretti /$fEleanor Andrews 210 1$aLamham, Maryland ;$aLondon, England :$cFairleigh Dickinson University Press :$cRowman & Littlefield Publishing Group, Inc,$d2014. 210 4$dİ2014 215 $a1 online resource (259 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a1-322-19580-3 311 $a1-61147-690-9 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references, filmography and index. 327 $aContents; List of Figures; Acknowledgments; Clarification; 1 Introduction; 1: Place; 2 Nearly All Roads Lead to Rome; 3 Battling with Nature; 4 Inside; 5 Outside; 2: Setting; 6 Laughter and Tears; 7 The Scene of the Crime; 8 Sweet Dreams?; 9 Whose Space is it Anyway?; 3: Perspective; 10 Inside and Outside the Frame; 11 A Certain Point of View; 12 An Artist at Work; Filmography; Bibliography; Index; About the Author 330 $aThis book takes a fresh view of the films of the Italian filmmaker Nanni Moretti through the important study of narrative space, which is defined here in terms of geographical place, genre setting, and aesthetic and philosophical perspective. The study is based on close textual analysis of Moretti's eleven major feature films to date, using the formal film language of mise-en-sce?ne, cinematography, editing, and sound. 676 $a791.43023/3092 700 $aAndrews$b Eleanor$f1953-$01478149 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910787165803321 996 $aPlace, setting, perspective$93693771 997 $aUNINA
