This conference was part of the annual series of the Clifton Batchelder Conference for Biblical Archaeology and the Bethsaida Excavations Project.The conference was structured so that text scholars and material-culture scholars were able to interact and influence one another. This interdisciplinary approach created a unique, productive atmosphere where scholars who come from different disciplines were able to share and exchange ideas in ways that seldom happen in our increasingly specialized academic world. Thus, scholars from three major disciplines?Greek philosophy, biblical studies, and archaeology?produced lectures and papers on urbanism in the ancient world that reflect multihued perspectives that draw on the specialties of each contributor.Few conferences on urbanism engage in an interdisciplinary approach, and few deal with the questions raised in this book; even fewer are published and see the light of day. In this volume, we are pleased to be able to share a fine collection of essays from the conference with the larger community of people interested in the ancient world. 606 $aRELIGION$xBiblical Reference$xHandbooks 606 $aRELIGION$xBiblical Reference$xGeneral 606 $aBIBLES$xGeneral 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aRELIGION$xBiblical Reference$xHandbooks. 615 0$aRELIGION$xBiblical Reference$xGeneral. 615 0$aBIBLES$xGeneral. 676 $a220.8/30776 700 $aArav$b Rami$0487970 801 0$bMdBmJHUP 801 1$bMdBmJHUP 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910456466803321 996 $aCities through the looking glass$92489668 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01316nam 2200421 450 001 9910821710403321 005 20200520144314.0 035 $a(CKB)4330000000011792 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3115776 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3115776 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10077313 035 $a(OCoLC)842273119 035 $a(EXLCZ)994330000000011792 100 $a20170501d2004 uy| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $2rdacontent 182 $2rdamedia 183 $2rdacarrier 200 00$aBASOR$h334, 2004 210 1$a[Atlanta] :$cAmerican Schools of Oriental Research,$d2004. 215 $a1 online resource (95 pages) $cillustrations, maps 300 $aCaption title. 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 517 3 $aBulletin of the American Schools of Oriental Research. 606 $aExcavations (Archaeology)$zPalestine$vPeriodicals 606 $aExcavations (Archaeology)$zMiddle East$vPeriodicals 607 $aPalestine$xAntiquities$vPeriodicals 607 $aMiddle East$xAntiquities$vPeriodicals 615 0$aExcavations (Archaeology) 615 0$aExcavations (Archaeology) 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910821710403321 996 $aBASOR$93941149 997 $aUNINA
