Fault Detection in Image-Based Tracking 330 $aPreface External-beam radiotherapy has long been vexed by the simple fact that patients can (and do) move during the delivery of radiation. The most elegant and forward-looking solution to this reality is to actively adapt the radiation delivery process to the patient's natural movements. Recent advances in imaging and beam delivery technologies have now made this solution a practical reality. The purpose of this book is to present to researchers and clinical practitioners in radiation therapy an overview of the current and prospective state of the art in motion-adaptive radiation therapy. It presents technical reviews of each of the contributing elements of a motion-adaptive system (including target detection and tracking, beam adaptation, and patient realignment), discusses treatment planning issues that arise when the patient and internal target are mobile, describes several integrated motion-adaptive systems that are in clinical use or at advanced stages of development, and concludes with a review of the system control functions that must be an essential part of any therapy device that operates in a near-autonomous manner with limited human interaction. From these chapters, the reader will hopefully gain not only an understanding of the technical aspects and capabilities of motion adaptation but also practical clinical insights into planning and carrying out various types of motion-adaptive radiotherapy treatment--Provided by publisher. 410 0$aImaging in medical diagnosis and therapy. 606 $aImage-guided radiation therapy 606 $aRadiotherapy$xData processing 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aImage-guided radiation therapy. 615 0$aRadiotherapy$xData processing. 676 $a615.8/42 701 $aMurphy$b Martin J$01033208 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910457188003321 996 $aAdaptive motion compensation in radiotherapy$92451617 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03109nam 22007214a 450 001 9910456065803321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a0-472-09898-5 010 $a1-282-44545-6 010 $a9786612445453 010 $a0-472-02508-2 024 7 $a10.3998/mpub.126246 035 $a(CKB)2520000000006857 035 $a(OCoLC)832475293 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebrary10360125 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000334456 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11266811 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000334456 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10271511 035 $a(PQKB)10377055 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3414611 035 $a(OCoLC)842263482 035 $a(MdBmJHUP)muse8552 035 $a(MiU)10.3998/mpub.126246 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3414611 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10360125 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL244545 035 $a(OCoLC)923500843 035 $a(EXLCZ)992520000000006857 100 $a20050825d2006 ub 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcn||||||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aAfter independence$b[electronic resource] $emaking and protecting the nation in postcolonial & postcommunist states /$fedited by Lowell W.
