Smartphones overlay data onto live camera views to show homes for sale, restaurants, or historical sites. American football broadcasts use AR to show the invisible first-down line on the field to TV viewers. Nike and Budweiser, among others, have used AR in ads. Now, you can learn to create AR prototypes using 3D data, Processing open-source programming language, and other languages. In Faeries, Bears, and Leathermen, Peter Hennen contends that this stigma of effeminacy exerts a powerful influence on gay subcultures. Through a comparative ethnographic analysis of three communities, Hennen explores the surprising ways that conventional masculinity is being collectively challenged, subverted, or perpetuated in contemporary gay male culture. Hennen's colorful study focuses on a trio of groups: the Radical Faeries, who parody effeminacy by playfully embracing it, donning prom dresses and glitter; the Bears, who strive to appear like "regular guys" and celebrate their larger, hairier bodies; and the Leathermen, who emulate hypermasculine biker culture, simultaneously paying homage to and undermining notions of manliness. Along with a historical analysis of the association between effeminacy and homosexuality, Hennen examines how this connection affects the groups' sexual practices. Ultimately, he argues, while all three groups adopt innovative approaches to gender issues and sexual pleasure, masculine norms continue to constrain members of each community. 606 $aGay men$xPsychology 606 $aMale homosexuality 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aGay men$xPsychology. 615 0$aMale homosexuality. 676 $a306.76/62 700 $aHennen$b Peter$0938884 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910454440803321 996 $aFaeries, bears, and leathermen$92116430 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01953nam 2200553 a 450 001 9910456032903321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a1-280-19142-2 010 $a9786610191420 010 $a0-309-59046-9 010 $a0-585-19366-5 035 $a(CKB)110986584752036 035 $a(OCoLC)45733508 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebrary10055570 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000237566 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11924861 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000237566 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10191536 035 $a(PQKB)10551533 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3376383 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3376383 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10055570 035 $a(OCoLC)923263146 035 $a(EXLCZ)99110986584752036 100 $a19971030d1997 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcn||||||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aReview of the Department of Energy's inertial confinement fusion program $ethe National Ignition Facility$b[electronic resource] /$fCommittee for the Review of the Department of Energy's Inertial Confinement Fusion Program, Commission of Physical Sciences, Mathematics, and Applications, National Research Council 210 $aWashington, D.C. $cNational Academy Press $cCopies available from Naval Studies Board$d1997 215 $a1 online resource (63 p.) 225 1 $aThe Compass series 300 $aBibliographic Level Mode of Issuance: Monograph 311 $a0-309-05778-7 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references. 410 0$aCompass series (Washington, D.C.) 606 $aInertial confinement fusion 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aInertial confinement fusion. 676 $a539.7/64 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910456032903321 996 $aReview of the Department of Energy's inertial confinement fusion program$91949509 997 $aUNINA
