The study provides a comprehensive and systematic analysis of the relevant international practice from the standpoint of both international criminal law, and in particular the case law of international criminal tribunals, and state responsibility. The author shows the various connections and issues arising from the parallel establishment of state and individual responsibility for the commission of the same international crimes. These connections indicate a growing need to better co-ordinate these regimes of international responsibility. The author maintains that a general conception, according to which state and individual responsibility are two separate sets of secondary rules attached to the breach of the same primary norms, can help to solve the various issues relating to this dual responsibility. This conception of the complementarity between state and individual responsibility justifies co-ordination and consistent application of these two different regimes, each of which aims to foster compliance with the most important obligations owed to the international community as a whole. 606 $aCriminal liability (International law) 606 $aInternational crimes 606 $aGovernment liability 606 $aAdministrative responsibility 606 $aSuperior orders (Criminal law) 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aCriminal liability (International law) 615 0$aInternational crimes. 615 0$aGovernment liability. 615 0$aAdministrative responsibility. 615 0$aSuperior orders (Criminal law) 676 $a345/.04 700 $aBonafe?$b Beatrice I$0609065 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910455086203321 996 $aRelationship between state and individual responsibility for international crimes$91112387 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03484oam 2200709I 450 001 9910459363003321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a1-136-95329-9 010 $a1-136-95330-2 010 $a1-282-73294-3 010 $a9786612732942 010 $a0-203-84914-0 024 7 $a10.4324/9780203849149 035 $a(CKB)2670000000035206 035 $a(EBL)557245 035 $a(OCoLC)658186169 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000419497 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11288529 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000419497 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10384026 035 $a(PQKB)11436940 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC557245 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL557245 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10413203 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL273294 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000035206 100 $a20180706d2010 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aHelping children and young people who self-harm $ean introduction to self-harming and suicidal behaviours for health professionals /$fTim McDougall, Marie Armstrong, and Gemma Trainor 210 1$aAbingdon, Oxon ;$aNew York, N.Y. :$cRoutledge,$d2010. 215 $a1 online resource (282 p.) 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 $a0-415-49914-3 311 $a0-415-49913-5 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aBook Cover; Title; Copyright; Contents; Figures; Tables; Contributing authors; Foreword; Foreword; Acknowledgements; Note; Abbreviations; Introduction; 1 What do we mean by self-harm and suicide?; 2 Why is self-harm common among young people?; 3 What works for young people who self-harm?; 4 What do young people tell us about self-harm?; 5 Making sense of self-harm: The process of assessment; 6 Assessing and managing the risk of self-harm and suicide; 7 Treatments for young people who self-harm; 8 Involving parents and carers; 9 Service provision and care pathways 327 $a10 Preventing suicide and self-harm: A public health priority11 Self-harm and the legal framework; References; Online resources; Index 330 $aEvery year thousands of children and young people attend emergency departments with problems resulting from self-harm.
