In a series of biographical studies of Chinese physicists, Hu describes the Chinese assimilation of relativity and explains how Chinese physicists offered arguments and theories of their own. Hu's account concludes with the troubling story of the fate of foreign ideas such as Einstein's in the Chinese Cultural Revolution (1966-1976), when the theory of relativity was denigrated along with Einstein's ideas on democracy and world peace. 606 $aRelativity (Physics) 607 $aChina$xHistory$yMay Fourth movement, 1919 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aRelativity (Physics) 676 $a530.11/0951 700 $aHu$b Danian$f1962-$01048818 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910454959803321 996 $aChina and Albert Einstein$92477353 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02943nam 22005415 450 001 9910300592203321 005 20200701232133.0 010 $a3-319-77326-7 024 7 $a10.1007/978-3-319-77326-1 035 $a(CKB)4100000003359522 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC5341355 035 $a(DE-He213)978-3-319-77326-1 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000003359522 100 $a20180403d2018 u| 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aFrom Biology to Linguistics: The Definition of Arthron in Aristotle's Poetics /$fby Patrizia Laspia 205 $a1st ed. 2018. 210 1$aCham :$cSpringer International Publishing :$cImprint: Springer,$d2018. 215 $a1 online resource (101 pages) 225 1 $aUNIPA Springer Series,$x2366-7516 311 $a3-319-77325-9 327 $aIntroduction -- Chapter 1: The Problem -- Chapter 2: From Biology to Linguistics -- Chapter 3: Conclusions. 330 $aThis book attempts to solve Aristotle's definition of arthron in the XX chapter of the Poetics by seeing it in a new light. This definition has always been considered an unsolvable problem. Starting with a detailed analysis of the Greek text, and of the various attempts to emend the text in order to make sense of it, the book provides an analytical description of the critical literature, showing that the solutions proposed up to now need to be revised. The possible solution is found in viewing the XX chapter of the Poetics not as a classification of parts of speech, as it was usually supposed, but by considering the biological definitions of arthron in Aristotle's corpus. This leads to the conclusion that, in linguistics as well as in biology, arthron is a "joint". In this light, the book offers a new textual conjecture for the first example of arthron in the Poetics. 410 0$aUNIPA Springer Series,$x2366-7516 606 $aPhilology 606 $aPhilosophy 606 $aGreek language 606 $aPhilology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/N33000 606 $aHistory of Philosophy$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/E15000 606 $aGreek$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/N25000 606 $aClassical Studies$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/728000 615 0$aPhilology. 615 0$aPhilosophy. 615 0$aGreek language. 615 14$aPhilology. 615 24$aHistory of Philosophy. 615 24$aGreek. 615 24$aClassical Studies. 676 $a401 700 $aLaspia$b Patrizia$4aut$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/aut$0300011 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910300592203321 996 $aFrom Biology to Linguistics: The Definition of Arthron in Aristotle's Poetics$92261619 997 $aUNINA
