The contributors provide an historical account of the contribution of brands in consumer goods to economic growth; examine the development of trademark law, its influence on brand strategy, and reciprocally the influence of strategy on the law; and look at the building and repositioning of individual brands as example of the interplay of law and strategy.Brands and trademarks are usually discussed from the perspective of marketing. If that sounds rather odd I initially apologise, but let me explain why I use those words. The original manuscript was of course Freudenthal?s, but his colleagues have carried the project through to its conclusion with love for the man, and his ideas, and with a respect developed over years of communal effort. Their invitation to me to write this Preface e- bles me to pay my respects to the great man, although I am probably incurring his wrath for writing a Preface for his book without his permission! I just hope he understands the feelings of all colleagues engaged in this particular project. Hans Freudenthal died on October 13th, 1990 when this book project was well in hand. In fact he wrote to me in April 1988, saying ?I am thinking about a new book. I have got the sub-title (China Lectures) though I still lack a title?. I was astonished. He had retired in 1975, but of course he kept working. Then in 1985 we had been helping him celebrate his 80th birthday, and although I said in an Editorial Statement in Educational Studies in Mathematics (ESM) at the time ?we look forward to him enjoying many more years of non-retirement? I did not expect to see another lengthy manuscript. 410 0$aMathematics education library ;$vv. 9. 606 $aMathematics$xStudy and teaching 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aMathematics$xStudy and teaching. 676 $a510/.7 700 $aFreudenthal$b Hans$f1905-1990.$012433 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910454684603321 996 $aRevisiting mathematics education$92481720 997 $aUNINA LEADER 00788nam0-2200277 --450 001 9910723899403321 005 20230607130341.0 010 $a978-88-290-1504-7 100 $a20230607d2022----kmuy0itay5050 ba 101 0 $aita 102 $aIT 105 $a 001yy 200 1 $a<>peste nera$econtagio, crisi e nuovi equilibri nell'Italia del Trecento$fAlberto Luongo 210 $aRoma$cCarocci$d2022 215 $a241 p.$d22 cm 225 1 $aQuality paperbacks$v660 610 0 $aPeste$aItalia$aSec. 14. 676 $a945.052$v23 700 1$aLuongo,$bAlberto$0328941 801 0$aIT$bUNINA$gREICAT$2UNIMARC 901 $aBK 912 $a9910723899403321 952 $a945.05 LUOA 01$b2023/701$fFLFBC 959 $aFLFBC 996 $aPeste nera$93368308 997 $aUNINA LEADER 03789oam 2200625I 450 001 9910800153303321 005 20230725040253.0 010 $a0-429-07559-6 010 $a1-4398-0963-1 024 7 $a10.1201/EBK1439809624 035 $a(CKB)2940000000001496 035 $a(EBL)589895 035 $a(OCoLC)668211724 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000411481 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11277745 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000411481 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10374300 035 $a(PQKB)11165941 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC589895 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL589895 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10419917 035 $a(CaONFJC)MIL692678 035 $a(OCoLC)704458383 035 $a(EXLCZ)992940000000001496 100 $a20180331d2010 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 00$aAir pollution $ehealth and environmental impacts /$feditors, Bhola R. It summarizes the distinctive physiological properties of AAB and the recent progress on AAB study, especially in the following five areas: 1) Molecular phylogeny and genome study of AAB; 2) Ecological features of AAB: interaction with plants, natural fermentation systems, and insects; 3) Physiological features and living strategies of AAB, including rapid oxidation ability, acid resistance, biofilm formation, and genetic instability; 4) Molecular mechanisms of several oxidative fermentations such as acetate fermentation, sorbose fermentation, and ketogluconate fermentation; 5) Recent biotechnological aspects of AAB: biocatalysts, biosensors, biocellulose, and other useful polysaccharides. AAB research has a long history since the discovery of AAB by Louis Pasteur and the identification of AAB by Martinus Beijerinck in the nineteenth century. In the twentieth century, basic research on the taxonomic study of AAB and on biochemical study for the unique oxidative reactions of AAB had progressed as well as the industrial application of AAB not only in vinegar fermentation but also in the bioconversion process for useful chemical or pharmaceutical products. Entering the twenty-first century, AAB research has expanded more, and further progress is expected to be seen in all fields of AAB: classification and ecology, physiology and biochemistry, genetics, and biotechnology of vinegar fermentation and other oxidative fermentations. Far-reaching development in the last decade makes these bacteria more valuable for various industrial uses. Readers can obtain useful and comprehensive information which is exciting in aspects of basic science and provides hints for the better application of these bacteria to various kinds of practical production scenarios as well. . 606 $aMicrobial ecology 606 $aMicrobiology 606 $aBacteriology 606 $aMicrobial Ecology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19082 606 $aApplied Microbiology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/C12010 606 $aBacteriology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L23012 615 0$aMicrobial ecology. 615 0$aMicrobiology. 615 0$aBacteriology. 615 14$aMicrobial Ecology. 615 24$aApplied Microbiology. 615 24$aBacteriology. 676 $a570 702 $aMatsushita$b Kazunobu$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aToyama$b Hirohide$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aTonouchi$b Naoto$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aOkamoto-Kainuma$b Akiko$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910253877903321 996 $aAcetic Acid Bacteria$92523562 997 $aUNINA
