While the primary focus is on contemporary Latin America, the methods employed and the lessons learned are of wider applicability. The papers address the financial integration issue from three different perspectives. In some cases, a country study is the vehicle for an econometric investigation of a particular external linkage. In other cases, an individual country's experience suggests an economic model in which the stylized facts may be analyzed and developed. A third direction is unabashedly theoretical and formulates more general principles which are broadly applicable rather than country-specific. 410 0$aConference report (National Bureau of Economic Research) 606 $aFinance$zLatin America$vCongresses 606 $aDebts, External$zLatin America$vCongresses 606 $aCapital market$zLatin America$vCongresses 606 $aForeign exchange$zLatin America$vCongresses 607 $aLatin America$xForeign economic relations$vCongresses 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aFinance 615 0$aDebts, External 615 0$aCapital market 615 0$aForeign exchange 676 $a332.498 676 $a332/.042/098 676 $a332/.042/098 701 $aAspe Armella$b Pedro$0519797 701 $aDornbusch$b Rudiger$07952 701 $aObstfeld$b Maurice$0118388 712 02$aNational Bureau of Economic Research. 712 12$aNational Bureau of Economic Research Conference on Financial Policies and the World Capital Market: The Problem of Latin American Countries$f(1981 :$eMexico City, Mexico) 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910454344103321 996 $aFinancial policies and the world capital market$92008815 997 $aUNINA
