Since deities and spirits were supposed to taste offerings on the spot, it was a task of architecture to attract them and to guide them into houses where offerings were presented. Domenig quotes numerous sources to show that certain material elements of the house were viewed as spirit attractors, spirit ladders or spirit pathways. Various ?exotic? features of Indonesian vernacular architecture thus become understandable as relics from times when architecture was still responding to indigenous religions practised in the archipelago. 410 0$aVerhandelingen van het Koninklijk Instituut voor Taal-, Land- en Volkenkunde$v294. 606 $aArchitecture$vExhibitions 606 $aReligions$vCase studies 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aArchitecture 615 0$aReligions 676 $a720.740531 700 $aDomenig$b Gaudenz$0936758 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910453595803321 996 $aReligion and architecture in premodern indonesia$92109896 997 $aUNINA LEADER 02539nam 2200697Ia 450 001 9910953439603321 005 20200520144314.0 010 $a9786613264411 010 $a9781283264419 010 $a1283264412 010 $a9781907822100 010 $a1907822100 035 $a(CKB)2670000000108125 035 $a(EBL)746830 035 $a(OCoLC)781459165 035 $a(SSID)ssj0000530871 035 $a(PQKBManifestationID)11930093 035 $a(PQKBTitleCode)TC0000530871 035 $a(PQKBWorkID)10571779 035 $a(PQKB)10424530 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC3038292 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC746830 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL3038292 035 $a(CaPaEBR)ebr10491560 035 $a(OCoLC)923701395 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL746830 035 $a(Perlego)2799291 035 $a(EXLCZ)992670000000108125 100 $a20081101d2009 uy 0 101 0 $aeng 135 $aur|n|---||||| 181 $ctxt 182 $cc 183 $acr 200 10$aMihaly Karolyi & Istvan Bethlen $eHungary /$fBryan Cartledge 210 $aLondon $cHaus Pub.$d2009 215 $a1 online resource (189 p.) 225 1 $aHaus histories 225 1 $aMakers of the modern world : the peace conferences of 1919-23 and their aftermath 300 $aDescription based upon print version of record. 311 08$a9781905791736 311 08$a1905791739 320 $aIncludes bibliographical references and index. 327 $aPrologue; Part 1; Hungary's Thousand Years; Miha?ly Ka?rolyi and Istva?n Bethlen; Collapse and Revolution; Prelude to Paris; Part 2; Ka?rolyi Abdicates; Dismemberment; Counter-revolution; Paris; Part 3; Bethlen - Consolidationand Recovery; Ka?rolyi and Bethlen: Endgame; Epilogue; Notes; Chronology; Further Reading; Picture Sources; Index; Info 330 $aA unique and accessible history of Hungary from the Peace conferences to WWII. 410 0$aMakers of the modern world (Haus Publishing, Ltd.) 410 0$aHaus histories. 517 3 $aMihaly Karolyi and Istvan Bethlen ;$eHungary 606 $aWorld War, 1914-1918$xTerritorial questions 607 $aHungary$xPolitics and government$y1918-1945 615 0$aWorld War, 1914-1918$xTerritorial questions. 676 $a923.24391 676 $a943.90510922 700 $aCartledge$b Bryan$0251750 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910953439603321 996 $aMihaly Karolyi & Istvan Bethlen$94355245 997 $aUNINA
