Yet interactive artworks using digital media still present a challenge for academic art history. In this book, Katja Kwastek argues that the particular aesthetic experience enabled by these new media works can open up new perspectives for our understanding of art and media alike. Kwastek, herself an art historian, offers a set of theoretical and methodological tools that are suitable for understanding and analyzing not only new media art but also other contemporary art forms. Addressing both the theoretician and the practitioner, Kwastek provides an introduction to the history and the terminology of interactive art, a theory of the aesthetics of interaction, and exemplary case studies of interactive media art. Kwastek lays the historical and theoretical groundwork with discussions of processual strategies of twentieth-century art and theories of aesthetic experience, process aesthetics, play, and performance. She then develops an aesthetics of interaction, discussing such aspects as real space and data space, temporal structures, instrumental and phenomenal perspectives, and the relationship between materiality and interpretability. Finally, she applies her theory to specific works of interactive media art, including narratives in virtual and real space, interactive installations, and performance - with case studies of works by Olia Lialina, Susanne Berkenheger, Stefan Schemat, Teri Rueb, Lynn Hershman, Agnes Hegedu?s, Tmema, David Rokeby, Sonia Cillari, and Blast Theory."--Pub. desc. 606 $aInteractive art 606 $aNew media art 606 $aAesthetics, Modern$y20th century 606 $aAesthetics, Modern$y21st century 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aInteractive art. 615 0$aNew media art. 615 0$aAesthetics, Modern 615 0$aAesthetics, Modern 676 $a776.01 700 $aKwastek$b Katja$0981190 701 $aDaniels$b Dieter$0981191 701 $aWarde$b Niamh$0981192 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910452858403321 996 $aAesthetics of interaction in digital art$92239511 997 $aUNINA LEADER 01251nam 22003613 450 001 9910794114603321 005 20210901203325.0 010 $a1-60491-996-5 035 $a(CKB)4100000011296568 035 $a(MiAaPQ)EBC6226222 035 $a(Au-PeEL)EBL6226222 035 $a(EXLCZ)994100000011296568 100 $a20210901d2020 uy 0 101 0 $aara 135 $aurcnu|||||||| 181 $ctxt$2rdacontent 182 $cc$2rdamedia 183 $acr$2rdacarrier 200 10$aFeedback That Works 205 $a2nd ed. 210 1$aLa Vergne :$cCenter for Creative Leadership,$d2020. 210 4$dİ2020. 215 $a1 online resource (65 pages) 311 $a1-60491-995-7 327 $aIntro -- Table of Contents -- What is Effective Feedback? -- 10 Common Mistakes in Giving Feedback -- The SBI Feedback Method -- Common Feedback Traps -- How to Further Develop Your SBI Feedback Skills -- Providing Virtual SBI Feedback -- Putting it All Together -- Suggested Resources -- Background. 700 $aLeadership$b Center for Creative$01490964 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910794114603321 996 $aFeedback That Works$93712469 997 $aUNINA
