While important work has been done regarding radical activism in the United States and Western Europe, events in what is today known as the Global South - Asia, Africa, and Latin America - have yet to receive the requisite attention they deserve. This volume inserts the Third World into the study of the 1960s by examining the local and international articulations of youth protest in various geographical, social, and cultural arenas. This is leading to significant changes, particularly for content intermediaries such as television broadcasters, publishers and online aggregators. Their analysis was the aim of the interdisciplinary research project intermedia at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich. intermedia was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as part of the Internet Economy Priority Program. In ten sub-projects ubiquity and personalization, interactivity as well as convergence and other technical developments were examined from the point of view of business administration, computer science and communication science. This book presents selected results from intermedia especially for practice. This gives decision-makers a compact insight into current research efforts. Intermedia is sponsored by the Center for Internet Research and Media Integration at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich, which investigates the effects of new technologies on individuals, companies, industries and society in a large number of projects. 606 $aMass media$xEconomic aspects 606 $aCommunication and traffic 606 $aTelecommunication$xEconomic aspects 606 $aInformation technology$xEconomic aspects 608 $bElectronic books 615 0$aMass media$xEconomic aspects. 615 0$aCommunication and traffic. 615 0$aTelecommunication$xEconomic aspects. 615 0$aInformation technology$xEconomic aspects. 676 $a338.4730223 702 $aHess$b Thomas$f1967-, 801 0$bNyNyMAR 801 2$bAuAdUSA 801 2$bUkMaJRU 906 $aBOOK 912 $a996199883103316 996 $aUbiquität, Interaktivität, Konvergenz und die Medienbranche$92022996 997 $aUNISA
