Results from the Deployment and Impact of Support Staff (DISS) project showed that the more support pupils received from teaching assistants, the less academic progress they made. Yet it is not decisions made by the teaching assistants themselves, but decisions made by school leaders and teachers about how their support staff are used and prepared, which explains these provocative results. 606 $aEDUCATION / General 606 $aEDUCATION / Special Education / General 606 $aEDUCATION / Teaching Methods & Materials / General 606 $aTeachers' assistants 606 $aTeachers' assistants 606 $aEducation$2HILCC 606 $aSocial Sciences$2HILCC 606 $aTheory & Practice of Education$2HILCC 608 $aElectronic books. 615 4$aEDUCATION / General. 615 4$aEDUCATION / Special Education / General. 615 4$aEDUCATION / Teaching Methods & Materials / General. 615 4$aTeachers' assistants. 615 0$aTeachers' assistants 615 7$aEducation 615 7$aSocial Sciences 615 7$aTheory & Practice of Education 676 $a371.14/124 676 $a371.14124 700 $aRussell$b Anthony$0892155 701 $aWebster$b Rob$f1976-$0892156 701 $aBlatchford$b Peter$0892157 801 0$bAU-PeEL 801 1$bAU-PeEL 801 2$bAU-PeEL 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910452526203321 996 $aMaximising the Impact of Teaching Assistants$91992352 997 $aUNINA
