The contemporary narrative emphasizes the importance of violence, where the P?emyslid princes and their powerful retinues imposed princely will on elites and freemen in Bohemia and Moravia. However, our attention also turns to the problematic evidence of assumed powerful cavalry armies and the importance of communication between prince, elites and church, somewhat problematizing the role of violence as the primary tool of governance. Furthermore, an analysis of ?otherness? in Saxon chronicles and a comparison of different traditions of St. Wenceslas and Great Moravia confirm the importance of the ?Identitätsbildung?-process and ?ideology? as stabilising factors in the new P?emyslid regnum. 410 0$aEast Central and Eastern Europe in the Middle Ages, 450-1450 ;$vv. 19. 606 $aViolence$xPolitical aspects$zCzech Republic$zBohemia$xHistory$yTo 1500 606 $aReligion and politics$zCzech Republic$zBohemia$xHistory$yTo 1500 606 $aSocial structure$zCzech Republic$zBohemia$xHistory$yTo 1500 606 $aGroup identity$zCzech Republic$zBohemia$xHistory$yTo 1500 606 $aIdeology$zCzech Republic$zBohemia$xHistory$yTo 1500 607 $aBohemia (Czech Republic)$xHistory$yTo 1526 607 $aBohemia (Czech Republic)$xPolitics and government 607 $aBohemia (Czech Republic)$xChurch history 607 $aBohemia (Czech Republic)$xSocial conditions 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aViolence$xPolitical aspects$xHistory 615 0$aReligion and politics$xHistory 615 0$aSocial structure$xHistory 615 0$aGroup identity$xHistory 615 0$aIdeology$xHistory 676 $a943.71/0223 700 $aKalhous$b David$0989513 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910452420903321 996 $aAnatomy of a duchy$92263238 997 $aUNINA
