Using the methodology of corpus linguistics, and a specially compiled corpus of texts, covering a range of genres, this book describes the current discourse of EU French from the perspective of phraseology and collocational patterning, and in particular in comparison with its French national counterpart. Corpus methodology and an inclusive notion of phraseology, embracing typical formulae, locutions , and patterning around keywords, reveal subtleties and patterns which otherwise remain hidden, and point to a discourse of EU French whose novel context of production has led it to be phraseologically conservative, compared with the administrative French of France. 410 0$aLanguage and computers ;$vno. 57. 606 $aComputational linguistics$xMethodology 606 $aFrench language$xDiscourse analysis$xData processing 606 $aFrench language$xPhraseology$xData processing 606 $aFrench language$xSemantics 607 $aFrance$xAdministrative and political codes$xData processing 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aComputational linguistics$xMethodology. 615 0$aFrench language$xDiscourse analysis$xData processing. 615 0$aFrench language$xPhraseology$xData processing. 615 0$aFrench language$xSemantics. 676 $a445 700 $aAnderson$b Wendy J$0949278 712 02$aEbooks Corporation. 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910451743703321 996 $aThe phraseology of administrative French$92145579 997 $aUNINA
