It proposes a mechanism for how widespread change translates into individual decisions to quit, and corroborates four relevant hypotheses. The paper also illustrates the importance for managers of understanding avoidability - the extent to which turnover decisions can be prevented - and concludes with a research agenda, encapsulated by a model describing the relationship between organisational change and turnover. 410 0$aPersonnel review ;$vv. 33, no. 2, 2004, special issue. 606 $aPersonnel management 606 $aManagement 608 $aElectronic books. 615 0$aPersonnel management. 615 0$aManagement. 676 $a658.3 701 $aThornhill$b Adrian$0957819 701 $aSaunders$b Mark$f1959-$0957820 701 $aSkinner$b Denise$0957821 801 0$bMiAaPQ 801 1$bMiAaPQ 801 2$bMiAaPQ 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910450256403321 996 $aHRM and change$92170081 997 $aUNINA
