The authors Ghanaians and outsiders, have worked to understand the urban dynamics in this burgeoning West African metropolis, with an emphasis on urban disparities in health and living standards. Few cities in the global South have been examined from so many different perspectives. Our analysis employs a wide range of GIScience methods, including analysis of remotely sensed imagery and spatial statistical analysis, applied to a wide range of data, including census, survey and health clinic data, all of which are supplemented by field work, including systematic social observation, focus groups, and key informant interviews. This book aims to explain and highlight the mix of methods, and the important findings that have been emerging from this research, with the goal of providing guidance and inspiration for others doing similar work in cities of other developing nations. 410 0$aGeoJournal Library,$x0924-5499 ;$v110 606 $aHuman geography 606 $aPublic health 606 $aDemography 606 $aRemote sensing 606 $aUrban ecology (Biology) 606 $aHuman Geography$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X26000 606 $aPublic Health$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/H27002 606 $aDemography$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/X25000 606 $aRemote Sensing/Photogrammetry$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/J13010 606 $aUrban Ecology$3https://scigraph.springernature.com/ontologies/product-market-codes/L19160 607 $aAccra (Ghana)$xEconomic conditions 607 $aAccra (Ghana)$xSocial conditions 607 $aGhana$xEconomic conditions$xRegional disparities 615 0$aHuman geography. 615 0$aPublic health. 615 0$aDemography. 615 0$aRemote sensing. 615 0$aUrban ecology (Biology). 615 14$aHuman Geography. 615 24$aPublic Health. 615 24$aDemography. 615 24$aRemote Sensing/Photogrammetry. 615 24$aUrban Ecology. 676 $a309.2/5 676 $a330.9 676 $a614.4 700 $aWeeks$b John R.$0144494 702 $aWeeks$b John R$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aHill$b Allan G$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 702 $aStoler$b Justin$4edt$4http://id.loc.gov/vocabulary/relators/edt 906 $aBOOK 912 $a9910438334503321 996 $aSpatial Inequalities$92884463 997 $aUNINA
